This is one billboard out of eight. All of them are different designs. This one is right by my house off of I-70 and Cave Springs in St. Charles, MO

You can see this billboard from about 1.5 miles away and its on top of a hill for maximum visibility.

I'm going out tomorrow to get pictures of the traffic during rushhour to give you an idea of how many people see this when they're going 10mph in bumper-to-bumper traffic.

This is a big sign off of I-170 heading North between Olive and page.
http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g83/derdy01/Billboard1.jpg

Soutbound I-55 on the east side of the highway. Approx 1 mile after Reavis Barracks
http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g83/derdy01/Billboard5.jpg

Eastbound I-44 after Bowles Avenue and next to Daimler-Chrysler plant where they just laid off half their work force
http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g83/derdy01/Billboard4.jpg

Hwy 67 southbound right before Big Bend
http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g83/derdy01/Billboard3.jpg

Eastbound Page (HWY 364) right before Lindberg Blvd
http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g83/derdy01/Billboard2.jpg

There were two that are MIA. One wasn't put up yet and the other we didn't see and since we had been driving for three hours hunting these down so we called it a night.

How much does it cost to put up a billboard design like that? I'll gladly pay for some in my area if it's not too expensive.

THe owner of the company we worked with was a Ron Paul supporter so he gave us a discount. The total was $9,000/month for eight billboards. I think there are three big ones and five small ones, but I might be mistaken. There are 7 different designs. The cartoonish Ron Paul one was used at another location as well.

The design was created by a fellow meetup member. I'm trying to get the high-res from him now.

Very nice. I'll check them out the next time I'm back in my home town.

And to back up the bumper to bumper comment, that area is UNBELIEVABLY packed every weekday, without fail, from 3:30 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. That billboard alone will get hundreds, if not thousands of supporters. Well done!

I just drove up the street and snapped some shots of the billboard.

http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g83/derdy01/Billboard.jpg
This is facing East on I-70. The billboard is about 200 feet behind me. Traffic snakes like that for MILES during rush hour!
http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g83/derdy01/traffic.jpg
More rush hour traffic about 1.5 west from the above pics:
http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g83/derdy01/traffic1.jpg

On the way back to my car I saw a shooting star. Hopefully, that brings me luck when I go billboard hunting tonight!

I guess there is finally an upside to the highway 40 closure ... with a lot more traffic going by that billboard and the increased slowdowns it allows more people to see it, and more time for them to see it with.

how did you fund that?

Around 50-100 members from our St. Louis Group chipped in. In addition Derdy set up a chipin and raised about a grand in that.

Uploading the two designs for the large sign for derdy whom said some people wanted them, should have a link in a few minutes. The smaller desis are on my computer at work, if anyone wants those I can have them on monday cause i am going to be calling everyone I can in my precinct tomorrow...

become a precinct captain if you haven't already.

Great job, good to see other RP supporters in my area! I'm around O'Fallon, MO by the way. One day while on Woods Mill Rd, I saw a RP sign up...and watched some Jackass walk by and step on it...had my light not turned green I would seriously have considered getting out of the car and kicking him in his sorry ass.

My aunt just came over and said she got Ron Rolled twice going to work yesterday. She saw a billboard going to work and coming home from work on the same highway!

Research before you vote? Now why would anyone do that when they have the MSM to tell them how to vote?

I think it was two or three weeks and they'll be up until a little after Super Tuesday.

This wasn't HQ's doing. This was done by the meetups in and surrounding St. Louis. THe cost was approx $9,000

ronpaul.meetup.com/35 <----Main St. Louis Meetup
ronpaul.meetup.com/263 <---St. Charles County Meetup

We raised most of the money in our meetup and then I created a CHipin account and raised a little over $1,200. There were a few contributors from here. Thanks to all!

I'm in southern Illinois. I live in a small town and we have several 4' x 8' Ron Paul signs around, plus numerous yard signs. I'm also starting to see more bumper stickers. I've had mine on the back window of my truck since April and have talked to several Paul supporters because of it. I've yet to see a single other presidential sign or bumper sticker in my town.

Anyway, great job in St. Louis! I'm headed there this Tuesday and I can't wait to see those!

Because the meetup groups haven't organized it. This was done by several individuals taking charge and getting others in the meetup groups to donate.

Why not NY

I checked out the New York market as well to make one big statement, Times Square. The spot I found would reach 350,000 daily and is huge. We could even have some digital images that move and video as well. It would garner huge media attention and a vast amount of people would see it. It would take a huge effort to pull it off though with the monthly quote.
