View Full Version : What? Me Panic?

2 Things:

1) Many (if not most) of us were prepared for some pretty nasty resistence to Paul's candidacy, from the media/party establishment. We weren't surprised by the exclusions and attacks. We knew this was coming, ever since he announced. It has only been a running question of when and to what degree it would occur. For anyone who has been long awake to the abuses of those in power, our right to feign shock or indignation at the outlandish tactics used to defame and discredit our candidate has long since expired. Do not allow any of this to distract you. We knew it was coming, and it is a sign of our progress. Wear it as a badge of honor. Don't panic. Continue to spread the word. And, don't forget to vote.

2) To those of you who recently stumbled across Ron Paul because you were doing a sincere analysis of the candidates, and decided that Dr. Paul was by far the best, congratulations. You couldn't have made a finer choice. There is something you need to know about him, though: the establishment HATES him. Why? Because he tells the truth, and they don't want you to know the truth. It really isn't any more complicated than that.

Gov't is not about benevolence and the common good, it is about power, pure and simple. It is said that power corrupts (which is true), but the greater truth is that instruments of power attract corrupt and evil men. The greatest danger from powerful political instritutions is that they will become the clubs (in both senses) of tyrants. Dr. Paul know this and wants you to know it, too, and the powerful and the power seekers hate him for it. They wear a facade of benevolence and altruism, and promise that, if you grant them more power over you, they will feed the world, end disease, "kill the evil-doers," control the earth's climate, give you a pay raise, and make your neighbors treat you nicer. Dr. Paul tells you that these things are all lies, and that the only reasons that corrupt men seek power over their neighbors is for their own personal gain.

Ask yourself this question: of all the candidates running, which ones have promised to reduce government power? Of those candidates, which actually have a track record of actually fighting to do just that? Only one. All the others promise to increase the power of the gov't; they claim that the evils in the world are the result of gov't not having enough power. Of course, they promise to use that power to bring peace, spread "democracy," end poverty, and cure cancer, but they are all lying. They want to increase the power of gov't because it personally benefits them to do so.

Only Dr. Paul wants to reduce that power over your life, and restore that power where it belongs, with you. Who else should have control over your life, property, and family? Should it be you or some shameless, amoral gameshow host, who only cares what you think once every 4 years?

Continue to support Dr. Paul, no matter what you hear about him. You will hear the most scandalous lies about him, as the race continues, because the longer he stays in, the more other candidates drop out, the greater the chance that he could actually win, and they can't let that happen. The attacks will continue and escalate: you will be told that he cheated on his medical exams, or that he filed false tax returns, or that he misappropriated Congressional funds, or that he committed adultery, or abused his children. So desperate are they to maintain power that they will stop at nothing to defame him. Prepare for it. Do not be swayed by it. Continue to work, and to spread the word, and remember to vote.

Very eloquent, and true.

Thank you for posting.
