I continue to hear murmors of the Republican party eventually splitting into two sides/parties.

Neoconservative vs True Conservative

Is this really something that could end up happening, and if so - WHO else besides Ron Paul is out there that would be on the True Conservative side ?

No way, they all want power, split would ensure at least a decade of democrat dominance. Not going to happen pal.

The GOP is a dying, sick party.

It would make sense for the neocons. They would assume they could demolish the conservative half, so all we would be left with was neocons (R) and socialists (D). The rest of the conservatives would have to split among the 3rd parties.

The neocons don't have popular support, if they did, they wouldn't be faking. So if you keep pushing them, you'll discover its all media and money, and that doesn't win.

Ron Paul brought a ton of true conservatives back to the Republican Party. We need to stomp out the neocons and force them out of OUR party. All these people talking about going to the Constitution Party and Libertarian Party need to rethink it and work on changing their local districts to kick the neocons out.

The GOP has sure done everything in it's power to push us out of the tent haven't they?

I for one intend to make sure they understand what a mistake that is.

The party isn't going to split, it's just not going to be a majority party again for a LONG time.

Long enough for a new party to replace it or for one of us to lead a reformed Republican party back into power.

Neoconservatism is DEAD, it just hasn't stopped twitching yet.

From IA & NH you would infer about 10% for the real conservatives. Where did you hear that?

Dead? I've never seen it as alive as it is now.

They're shrinking too much for this to happen. Instead, all the warmongers and socialists (including many of the evangelicals) will join the Democrat Party if they keep their majority for a decade or more. That time in the wilderness will purify the GOP, although to regain power it would have to (a) sell out its principles like it did after the '94 revolution or (b) educate the public so it can grow without losing its commitment to the principles of constitutionalism and liberty.

Yeah well, we'll still have the Rockefeller-Republicans to deal with. Yet another big government faction in the Republican party.
