nice! I was lucky enough to see Mr. Barr speak a few years ago. He talked about civil liberties and the GOPers cringed

Wow. I wonder how many more Republican will be defecting to the Libertarians if the GOP continues the way it's going?

If you're talking about the actual Libertarian Party then don't expect much because they haven't been doing any exceptional work themselves.

How 'bout the other way around (this time eh?)

Libertarian votes for Ron Paul in Republican General Election. Check around 6 posts down for a Libertarian's pledge to vote Republican if Ron Paul is nominated. There are a LOT of these folks out there:

We have a mission.

We have to convince them to vote for him IN the primaries to get him elected.

I've always thought favorably about Barr, but I'm not too sure about his recent affiliation with the ACLU.

Barr became far more respectable after he left office, but good for him.

I've thought for a while that we should recruit Bob Barr. I heard him speak recently and he is very, very liberty-minded. He still has signivicant pull with conservatives who remember him from the impeachment hearings and may be able to move some voters in our direction.

He was a part of the American Freedom Agenda. If you haven't watched that press release, you should. Dr. Paul is there too.
