I quote:

Mr. Shelley said that he was recommending that the state's attorney general look into possible civil and criminal charges against Diebold because of what he called ''fraudulent actions by Diebold.''

In an interview, Mr. Shelley said that ''their performance, their behavior, is despicable,'' and that ''if that's the kind of deceitful behavior they're going to engage in, they can't do business in California.''

The move is the first decertification of touch-screen voting machines, which have appeared by the tens of thousands across the nation as states scramble to upgrade their election technology.

If you look you can find a entire transcript and MP3 file as well as documents that include all the info on the Electronic Voting Machines that USC tested for about a month.

They had a "Red Team" thats sole purpose was to "hack" the machines.

If I remember correctly DieBold didn't send the proper machine and once got hacked in 5 seconds.

I really believe that California is fertile ground for us. With HUGE government, taxation and standard of living issues...plus what I consider to be a more moderate electorate (at least compared to my state...sorry, fellow Texans) may be extemely receptive to our message.

i say YAAAHOOOOOO!!!!!!

nothing against diebold specifically but really behaviour like that should be clamped down and discouraged
especially when it concerns the lives of millions after an election

Those machines should never have been allowed in an election in the first place. It sounds like they may bring them back once the security problems are fixed. The real problem with them is that they do not allow any way to audit an election and there is no way to fix that.

I've been voting in every election in California since 1995 and have NEVER seen an electronic voting machine.

I agree... here's one way we can win CA, similarly to Jefferson County, IA.

We had them in the east bay for 04.... in 06 though they had been replaced with a punch card system that was read by a machine, but also provided a receipt. This didn't guarantee that the machine vote matched the receipt, but it still left you with a MUCH better feeling.

What? Rigged voting machines? AHAHA You must live in deranged conspiracy theorist land. You would have to be absolutely mentally insane to actually consider that electronic voting machines could be anything less than spot-on 100% accurate and uncorruptable.

/sarcasm off =)
