Is Ron Paul a voice of those who believe, but don't worship (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rLIKAyzeIw4) false idols?

Does anyone else see this?

Sam Harris is one of the most level-headed of the modern Athiests. I find most of his contemporaries (especially Dawkins, brilliant as he is) needlessly antagonistic, resorting to the same kinds of dogmatic religious confrontational tactics that ought to be below any atheist. Sam is one of the few who understands this and is willing to risk the ire of his contemporaries by urging tolerance and reasoned discourse.

Here's a great clip of pastor Rick Warren, author of The Purpose Driven Life, which is arguably the best book on Christianity written since the Bible. If all Christians were like this, nobody would ever have anything bad to say about any of them.

Dan Dennett is another level-headed atheist with a very smart idea on how to understand religion and solve many of our problems with it.

Ron is clearly smart enough to let people choose for themselves.

Two questions.

Believe in what?

False idols? Are you specifically referring to theistic beliefs which have actual entities as their gods? Or are you mistakenly assuming that all theistic beliefs worship literal beings/entities?

Just seeking some clarification, since a large majority of atheists tend to hold smug attitudes, while repeatedly generalizing all theistic beliefs via blanket statements and incorrect assumptions. (IE: All theistic beliefs are fear induced, mind limiting, worship literal entities, etc )

I'm not affiliated with any religion, yet still suppose I meet the basic qualifications of being a theist. Which is why the theism vs atheism debate seems so incredibly foolish and fruitless, mainly because its driven by hardcore atheists who merely critique Christianity (the history of, common tendencies of practitioners, ancient dogmas, etc) without delving into philosophical questions of the more advanced spiritual perspectives that exist today.

/sorry if this rant is off topic :)
