I made video versions of two of my most popular blog entries, and uploaded them to my hope4america channel (http://youtube.com/user/hope4america) on YouTube. One is on abolishing the IRS and the other is on terrorism.

I wrote this for my blog, way back on March 21st. The sequence is off a bit, but I would say we're at step 5 right about now... I thought some of you might enjoy this:

If Ron Paul is to win the Republican presidential nomination, his campaign will probably have to follow these basic steps:

Step 1: Build a strong grassroots organization. This is happening spontaneously so far, with a lot of enthusiasm on the web, but will most likely become a more formal effort in the months ahead. A strong grassroots organization helps spread the word, adds momentum, and helps create stronger campaign events.

Step 2: Receive equal treatment from pollsters and national media. Several of the leading pollsters are still excluding Ron Paul, and many stories on the race mention only three or four of the candidates currently leading in the polls. Frequent reminders to pollsters and news organizations that Dr. Paul is a declared candidate should be one of the first tasks for the growing grassroots movement.

Step 3: Emerge as the clear leader among the current second-tier candidates. Since no one in this group is polling over 2%, reaching steps 1 and 2 should be enough to make Ron Paul's candidacy far more prominent.

Step 4: Join the top tier of Republican contenders. Mitt Romney is faltering in the high single digits, John McCain has already lost the lead, and conservatives are just beginning to learn how far Rudy Giuliani's values are from their own. Once Ron Paul emerges as the top alternative, he should move up quickly in the polls.

Step 5: Raise enough cash to compete. It won't take a hundred million dollars to win, but it will be expensive, with several populous states moving their primaries up to February 5th. Those of us who believe Ron Paul is the best candidate will have to sign the checks, since the big donors looking for big favors from the government will be looking elsewhere.

Step 6: Shock the establishment in the early primaries. Iowa and New Hampshire are on everyone's radar, but South Carolina and Alabama will follow shortly thereafter. A Ron Paul victory in any of those states would definitely shake things up, but finishing second or third in two or more would help clear the credibility hurdle.

Step 7: Stay competitive on Super Tuesday. California has already moved up to February 5th, and other big states are sure to follow. Ron Paul will have to win enough delegates to keep anyone else from taking a commanding lead, hopefully making it a two-man or three-man race at that point.

Step 8: Win big down the stretch. With the field cut down to a few clear options, ask Republican voters what they truly want in a candidate, and which candidate has the track record to prove he can really offer that.

And of course, one more step for the general election...

Step 9: Give the voters a real choice. An experienced Congressman, Air Force veteran, long-time physician, and principled defender of liberty who will restore the Constitution and had the foresight to vote against the war from the beginning, versus a lawyer with limited experience in the Senate (Clinton, Obama, or Edwards), who voted for the war (Clinton and Edwards), and who thinks America would be great if we just had the government running a little more of it.

Just added to my blog:

http://paul4prez.blogspot.com/2007/10/ron-paul-vs-mike-huckabee.html

Conservatives looking for a viable option to the so-called front-runners should support Ron Paul over Mike Huckabee. His record on taxes and spending is much more conservative than Huckabee's. Both candidates are reliable conservatives on other issues, except on immigration where Huckabee has been less consistent than Paul. Huckabee's support for continuing the war and his disregard for Constitutional limits on presidential power would severely limit his electability, while Paul has shown strong appeal to independents and moderate Democrats without compromising his conservative principles. In fundraising and campaign organization, it's not even close -- only Ron Paul has the funds and volunteer resources needed to mount a credible challenge.

In case you missed it:

Ron Paul's growing grassroots support and fundraising success have astounded the mainstream media, but many still give him little chance of winning the Republican presidential nomination. How can a candidate trailing in the polls in early November overtake the field and win? Here's how:
