It is a difficult time to be a Ron Paul supporter with these disappointing Iowa and New Hampshire results. We have put our hearts, time, and money into this campaign and it is awful that our work has not paid off with top finishes. I have witnessed a lot of despair and infighting because of this, but let us not forget that this is about a movement and not a man. This is only the beginning and we cannot quit now. America and the world need us now more than ever.

You must realize that we cannot change the world overnight. It took a long time for us to get into this situation and it will likely take a long time to get out of it and restore our liberties and the Constitution. Unfortunately the majority of Americans do not realize the dire situation that we are in and its solution, but we are waking them up as is evident by the rapid growth of this movement. The ideas of liberty are frightening to many who have grown up only knowing the status quo. It takes time to educate the masses about the benefits of individual liberty, especially when there are so many forces countering this process by unfairly demonizing the ideas of limited government or not giving them the time of day.

What we have done is remarkable. In a short period of time we have shocked the world, setting fundraising records and creating an incredible grassroots movement like this country has never seen before. We are winning over hearts and minds around the world to our cause. Just last night we had over 18,000 people come out to support our candidate despite the lack of media attention and his being labeled as a long shot candidate with no chance to win. This is an incredible success that we should be proud of but it is just a small victory of what is to come. We have started a movement that will extend far beyond this campaign.

We should not give up on the Ron Paul campaign. We must use all of our effort get Ron Paul into the White House and see this through to the end because it certainly isn’t over yet. Even if it doesn’t look like Ron Paul will take the nomination, the campaign is currently the best method of spreading the message of liberty and expanding our movement. Most importantly, we cannot give up on this movement. Win or lose, we must press forward in our efforts. Do not get disheartened by the possibility of a Ron Paul loss and abandon our fight for freedom when our country needs us the most.

Also, here is a good paper that shows why we have our work cut out for us, especially on economic issues.
