Anyone got a rebuttal of the quote on MTP where Dr. Paul said the Civil Rights Act wasn't necessary? I got people crawling up my ass about it.

Thanks in advance. ;)

Well, while government should not discriminate, the Civil Rights Act also made the same requirements applicable to the general populace, meaning that private businesses were forbidden from engaging in any discriminatory practices based on race as well. While RP and most sane people today are against such discriminatory practices, the government should not legislate it, as in so doing it is infringing on the person's rights by forcing him to hold a certain position and act a certain way.

What do you mean?

It was a cynical statement. If people were in your ass about Paul's opposition to the Civil Rights act of 64, wait until tomorrow. If those same people caught a whiff of what was shoveled today, they'll be looking to plant a tree in you.
