Should we schedule a day to bomb the blimp so it's funded for another month?

Sure but is it worth millions in DONATIONS?

Attention is one thing, conversion is another...

What matters is vote, not $$$.

If you go to the blimp blog, you will see a video where a woman saw the blimp, googled Ron Paul, and is now a supporter. The blimp reaches out to the uninformed and the apolitical and gets them involved. Many people who do vote won't pay attention until after the primaries are over which is too late. I know someone who is thinking about canvassing for Ron Paul because of the blimp and she never did that before in her life (she is over 60).

Don't let the blimp die! Donate at www.ronpaulblimp.com!

I don't understand the negativity toward the blimp....it's a great idea for publicity. The novelty of a blimp flying over is worth thousand signs; especially those posted illegally or being handled by unruly supporters.

Blimp needs 100,000 dollars by January 18. Has only 37,000 dollars now.

Please try to support the blimp thru super Tuesday.

Ack...I'll donate to the blimp, but fyi, I had no idea it needed money until now. In other words, we need to spread the word that it needs funds!

The blimp only needs $47K now, but this is THE LAST DAY.

We could do this in 5.3 MINUTES at the last 6 Million money bomb.

Come on, the blimp is worth every dime and cannot be censored. It's our mascot and the movement's pride. Lets' not ground it, please.

Don't forget, this is just the downpayment for the month, but at least it will continue to fly. A good overall showing in NV & SC will re-energize the donations. The blimp MUST fly in Florida.

RonRules

At MINIMUM, we need to fly till Feb 5. That's approximately $160,000. Please donate what you can.

The blimp is draining money away from funding the campaign's GOTV efforts on the ground to get Dr. Paul's message out. "Ron Paul Revolution" or "Google Ron Paul" is not getting his message out. The blimp was a great campaign gimmick but the blimp has reached the point of diminishing returns. Most of the media coverage of the blimp occurred in late 2007. It is not 2008 and time to return to earth and canvass the voters.

unless it starts flying over states like Tenn, LA, Miss, texas, it should be grounded. the blimp must be where no other candidates are at this point in time.... head west... arizona for the super bowl if it's possible...

It's heading north and west after the Florida primary.

It's planning to move towards Texas after the Florida primary IF it keeps getting funding. Sponsor the blimp today! :)

Can we see the blimp from the ground pretty well? I noticed the cameras have to zoom in to read the banners.

We need to TURN VOTES not create media about a blimp. I just wish the blimp had effective ads on it.

"want to end the war in iraq? google ron paul to find out how"

or SOMETHING that actually deals with ISSUES themselves. I know we cant afford new banners BUT I just wish the ads themselves were researched a bit better. SOmething that he stands for that no other can even come close to WHICH many Americans agree with him on BUT dont know who he is.

Whether the blimp is worth millions of dollars of free media or not is irrelevant. The question is whether the blimp is getting people to vote for Ron Paul. I submit that the blimp is not convincing a sufficient number of people to vote for Ron Paul to justify the expense of keeping the blimp airborne. Case in point, Ghouliani has spent tens of millions of dollars and has finished behind Ron Paul in four out of five states. Thus, even though Ghouliani has spent more money than Ron Paul, Ghouliani is getting less bang for his buck. Similarly, we are getting less bang for our bucks spent on keeping the blimp airborne than we would if the same donations were utilized for GOTV efforts on the ground. In short, the blimp has passed the point of diminishing returns and is draining money away from the national campaign. It's time to ground the blimp.

What do you mean most of our media was in late 2007? We have had tons of television media, newspaper reports, etc... ever since the blimp went up.

The majority of the coverage took place prior to the New Year versus after the New Year. Furthermore, the impact of the blimp was far greater prior to the New Year versus after the New Year. The blimp was a cute campaign gimmick but it got old after a few weeks. It's time for another campaign gimmick. In the meantime, additional funding for the blimp is funding that could have been utilized for billboards, radio ads, TV ads, direct mail campaigns, newspaper ads, push polling, etc., that targets identified potential Ron Paul voters. It's time to ground the blimp. Period. End of story.
