RP got to talk for 14 minutes to 6+million tonight

does anyone know candidate by candidate, or at least maybe an average, regarding how much talking time each of the GOP candidates actually received during the FOX forum?

and additionally if its on the net, anyone know the ratings the forum got?

Total... usually RP gets less than 10 minutes per 2 hour debate.

Plus he got to bash Fox News with the help of Jay Leno and the audience.

THANK YOU FOX, without you this wouldn't be possible. What an awesome interview and he really very CLEARLY nailed a couple of major points. The monetary one is the main issue that really converts people over.

I think I read from drudgereport that the fox forum had 7 million viewers, down from 9 million on the ABC debate.

One positive is that while many of those 7 mil are repeat watchers from the 9 mil, the Leno show probably hit a hugely diverse audience that doesn't overlap debates. As such we get the 9 mil on the ABC debate and a new 6 mil or whatever for Leno, whereas the rest of the candidates get mostly repeats the Forum time around. Maybe, I have no evidence, just guessing.

His mentioning the possiblity of sueing Fox for fraud will affect the price of the NWS stock by driving the price down even more.

One thing's for sure. There must've been quite a few people watching AC 360 that tuned into Leno after seeing that guy with the "Ron Paul on Leno Tonight" poster in the back. Whoever you are you rock!

I could be wrong but I thought that was saying the ABC Rep portion got 7 million and the Dem portion got 9 million. because it said the Dem debate outranked Rep. it didn't say ABC beat FNC ( which should be expected IMO as ABC is a major network).

However, I only read the Headline, and Drudge often has headlines that completely lie or make no sense at all.

This is the 1st time I've heard anyone reporter/interviewer that says "Let's say you get the nomination". That was amazing Leno said that. Thank you Leno again.

awesome thank you. so looks like our boy did just fine!

if you consider the leno interview a direct result of fox banning him (as leno pretty much said) it's pretty safe to say that RP came out AT LEAST even, if not on top (depending on ratings and amount of viewers who are new to the message, versus those who might already be dedicated to another candidate)

i'm happy!

And he got to speak on monetary policy, clarify his position regarding blame and 9/11, and so on - rather than his 6 imaginary Fox minutes going towards questioning whether he's a racist and when he's declaring himself a third party candidate.

Don't forget that CNN replayed the ABC debate over on CNN....so that would make it have more than 9 million viewers.

I can tell you that Ron Paul has gotten as little as 5 or 6 minutes in some of the debates...

The good part is that debate time is filled with tension and disharmony.

The Leno was totally noconfrontational and yet millions of viewers learned a little about Dr. Paul.

thanks Jay Leno.

Fox already won the lawsuit (http://www.goldmanprize.org/node/65) on that issue. In February 2003, a Florida Court of Appeals unanimously agreed with an assertion by FOX News that there is no rule against distorting or falsifying the news in the United States.

Reminds me of Fox's lawsuit against Franken (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lies_and_the_Lying_Liars_Who_Tell_Them).

I don't know. I thought the lawsuit said they can make up what they like because they aren't reporting news but selling a service (ie. entertainment). If they start making fraudulent claims about their service - isn't that a separate issue? I'm no lawyer, but it seems the sort of thing a lawyer could argue.

But would that only apply to Florida? I mean how can a Florida court decide something affecting the entire nation?

I admit I have no clue how slander and distortion and such with the media is handled legally, it just seems odd to me that if a Florida court ruled Fox can basically lie that would make it legal across the nation.

And a good lawyer should have no problem arguing Paul's case. Its a clear violation of free speech.

Free speech does not mean fox has the right to not let Paul speak, it means Paul has the right to speak.

Sure its a private business, but a private business must allow free speech.

um i think you people are missing the point

he's not going to actually sue them. it was a joke-jab at them claiming to be fair and balanced. he was on a comedy show, and he found a way to make a joke but also dig at them.
