I'd like to explore the idea of advertising on coffee cups in New York City. How do grassroots projects like this get off the ground in terms of funding?

Get quotes, and pitch it here. It may be cost prohibitive. You could probably try with your meetup first, I imagine there's several wealthy folks in the NYC meetup.

NYC is one of the most anti-freedom places in the most anti-freedom state in the union. Is it even worth an investment to try and win there? Would we be much better off spending the same amount to probably educate more people in a much more winnable region?

I have a friend who owns a coffeshop... they are "coffee holders".. they might use them IF they are free to them... or you might have to pay for them to "advertise".. I am not sure as it is a mutual beneficial thing.. they get 'free' coffee holders, you get exposure....

Call up local places and ask..... once you get some responses -- try it out... if the response is good, then you expand.

1. Form a meetup group or join one

2. Organize PACs / meetup drives

How about a billboard ?? :)

I would think it would be all the more ripe for a message of freedom.

It's a breath of fresh air for a lot of people and I think NYC could use it.

Go hold up a sign in Times Square, or is that illegal?

Thanks everyone. Our group is very active. We're out there kicking ass for Ron Paul all the time.

The thing is, though, we just need to know how to raise funds for a project like this. The plan is there, we know how to get it done.
