Maybe we can get the Democrats to vote in the Republican primary for the anti-war candidate producing a "win-win" ballot in 2008. A race between two anti-war candidates who want to restore civil liberties.

Due to violating party rules, the Democratic National Committee has stripped Michigan of all its delegates to the Democratic National Convention. You can vote in the Democrat’s primary, but no Michigan delegates will be sent to the DNC to vote for you.

As if that isn’t bad enough, most candidates running for the Democrat’s nomination didn’t even register to be on the ballot or have withdrawn their names. Here is a list of people who will be on the ballot: Hillary Clinton, Mike Gravel, and Dennis Kucinich. So if you wanted to vote for Barack Obama, John Edwards, or any other candidate you’re SOL because they won’t even be on the ballot.

Instead of casting a meaningless vote on the Democrat’s ticket, you can vote in the Republican primary, helping bring a “win-win” ballot for the 2008 Presidential election by voting for Ron Paul. The war in Iraq has consistently rated the highest issue important to voters. Another issue not polled which I’m sure matters to voters is the restoration of our civil liberties.

Ron Paul is the only Republican candidate who is against the Iraq war and for the restoration of our civil liberties. All of the Democrats oppose the war in Iraq, so by voting for Ron Paul in the Republican primary you can help create a “win-win” 2008 Presidential ballot. It will be an anti-war, pro civil liberties Democrat versus an anti-war, pro civil liberties Republican. No matter who wins the election, the war will end and our civil liberties will be restored.

Is there any way we can run an advertisement in Michigan newspapers and/or on Michigan TV regarding this?

Are you suggesting a grassroots drive to raise money to advertise on the TV in Michigan?

Perhaps we could go to different Michigan-based blogs, forums, and comment sections and pimp Ron Paul.

There is a website called MichiganLiberal and a Michigan subforum for DemocraticUnderground. From those two sites you can find links to other Michigan Democrat forums.

I just posted this on MichiganLiberal. They're talking up the racist thing, of course.

"I'm originally from Detroit (live in TX), have never voted (I'm 24), and am completely independent. [preface: keep reading]

Seriously. Do your homework before you buy into this stuff... it's a Presidential election season. Any dirt is good dirt. Unfortunately for his opponents, Dr. Paul has NO dirt, except contrived and thoroughly disproved "dirt".

This was written without his knowledge during his political hiatus. Even his Congressional opponents admit he didn't write it or know of it. There was a media investigation and he was exonerated in the public's eye just prior to his re-entry into Congress in 1997.

This is old news... being dug up to hurt his campaign going into NH and MI.

Now, leaving aside any "strategic" analysis above.

You should vote for Dr. Paul for the following reasons:
1. The Economy is approaching collapse as you're beginning to see in MI. The dollar inflates, gold remains near constant in value (goes up when priced in dollars). He knows how to fix the economy.

2. He's going for President!!! Not "Dictator" (recent new executive powers aside). Half the stuff he wants to do won't get done, because he'll need 2/3 of congress (minimum).

3. What he CAN do, as COMMANDER IN CHIEF, is pull all troops home immediately with a single order. Isn't that what you want? Only Kucinich has the same complete anti-war view. NO ONE ELSE.

4. You can't vote for the Dems, help keep the worst Republicans from winning."

Hopefully that'll help.

I've heard there is actually some organized internet efforts by democrats to get the Dems to vote Romney.

Their logic in doing this is to split up the neocon vote even further heading into super tuesday and make them spend as much money as possible attacking each other.

It's good to remind them that in terms of delegates, Romney is in first place with 30. Don't let them forget that he's already won a state (Wyoming). Going for Romney in Michigan would give him an even clearer lead as well as a lot of positive media coverage. Add that to his wealth and he could be unstoppable. Voting for him as a dem is playing with fire.

Digg NOW - Michigan Democrats-Don't Throw Your Vote Away!!!!!!!!!

http://digg.com/2008_us_elections/Mi..._Vote_Ron_Paul

Assuming this is legit, it could be big news for the Ron Paul campaign if the word gets out, as he is the only TRUE anti-war candidate and, even considering his liberitarian positions that no doubt disgust many Dems, he is no-doubt the better Republican candidate in their minds.

Please dig this en-mass as quickly as possible. How else might we get the word out? Anyone suggest a youtube video? Ensue a mass-posting on Democratic blog websites? Effort by the official campaign? How do we take advantage of this.

P.S. Digg.com kicks ass - I finally watched this youtube video released about the ease with which electronic Dibold machines can be infected with a virus that is undetectable to alter the results - it's literally f'cking mindblowing and sickening.

also, vote for Ron Paul in this online aol poll where he's losing

As usual, I posted here prematurely - in an effort to consolidate a bit, below I have links to the posts under the Michigan sub-forum that deal with this EXACT topic, so if you're interested, check them out.

It's just socialists that are like neocons who are talking up the race thing. The control both parties and are worried that Paul winning would actually be true competition to hillary or obama.
