*NOTE* - The issue has been fixed. YOu can find the pages spread throughout multiple posts by Hillertexas below. BIG THANKS TO Hillertexas for coming through and helping a fellow supporter out!

I have never tried loading scanned photos here before so I hope this works. This ran this past week in the newspaper based out of Cambridge,MD (Dorchester County). It is a 12 page advertisement for a local Congressional candidate and all I can say is "Oh My God". If we can get thousands upon thousands of these multi page, newspaper sized ad's printed up and put in papers around the country (not this exactly but something like that) than we have a win. I have only had this copy for today but I have shown it to a lot of people and so far we have 22 new converts after this. This is just amazing. I had to scan each page in two sections. If someone knows how to do a better job than please feel free to fix it up. Above all let me know what you all think about possibly taking this idea and spreading it like wildfire and if anyone would be interested in helping to organize a fundraiser to get it done!

You can edit your post to change the links and if the below works, I got the direct link to the pic by right clicking on the imageshack pic and saying "View Image", then the URL is the direct link of the pic.

Here's an example of what I used, if it works that is:
http://img252.imageshack.us/img252/8505/ronpaul4pz1.jpg

http://img252.imageshack.us/img252/8505/ronpaul4pz1.jpg

You may need a site that allows direct linking to pics, if imageshack doesn't, then these links won't work after a few days (they change the numbers to keep from "hot linking").

This was put out by Americanway08.org . You can visit their wesbite and see if they have a copy they can mail. This man could use our support as well as he is a Ron Paul Republican running for Congress here in Maryland. BIG THANKS for the help in getting this loaded. I think if we take this format and run it in a lot of super tuesday states that we are going to have a big impact. I just got ahold of this yesterday but I have shown the hard copy to quite a few people and every single one converted.. This is a very powerful piece!

Send this man your support from us Ron Paul Republicans. I just emailed him, ya'll do likewise. We need to expand the rEVOLution beyond Ron Paul if we want to win the Republican Party, and the Country, back.

Greetings From A Ron Paul Republican In Mississippi

Greetings Mr. Arminio,

I saw some good things posted about your campaign and pro-Constitution platform on ronpaulforums.com. Don't know that I can be of much help but I just wanted to give you my contact information. Here in the First Congressional District of Mississippi our Representative, Roger Wicker, was just tapped to replace retiring Senator Trent Lott. So we also need to find a true conservative republican to represent us. Good luck in your campaign.

Yours In Liberty,

William C Colley

This man has my support. I have requested some signs and literature from the campaign and will probably give some information about him and Ron Paul when I talk to people. I think it is going to just make Ron Paul look even stronger if I can present him along with a local candidate who shares his ideas!

How feasible is it to come up with a similar design as this and raise the funds in time to get this in newspapers in super tuesday states. This thing is about the size of a regular newspaper and looks very deceptive. My Wife did not even realize it was an advertisement until 4 pages into it. Anyway, like I said - The hard copy of this was shown to quite a few people before it was posted here and it worked on every single one. It is just too much information to deny when you do it this way!

This is the type of hard hitting information that will get people out to vote for Paul. I do not understand limp wrist ads. You must point to a problem that is impacting the person reading it and a solution.

This is it, there wont be a next time to turn this thing around.

This guy wants to separate Iraq into 3-states. Doesn't sound too Libertarian to me. This guy have a very "Establishment" background. What do we really know about him? While I certainly haven't done the detailed research yet, I would resist the urge get too excited about him until you can validate his background and the principles behind the message. I've been follwing Dr. Paul for almost 15 years, and I wouldn't have been behind him in this election had I not validated the man some time ago. I may be way off base, but that's okay, I think it's wise to be prudent and cautious.

Hey guys, those are great. But whose are those? Are they from the official campaign? Are we exposing these too soon? I saw them and my heart flipped in excitement, and then I got worried that no one is supposed to know about these, and that maybe this is part of the secret plan the Headquarters is going to use later? Maybe just being paranoid, but with all the spies from other campaigns coming into these forums, we don't want them to know what we're doing before we are "supposed" to do it.

1.) I did not post this as a direct endorsement of the Congressional candidate whom this was printed for. I posted this because I was excited about the format used, 12 pages of cold hard facts laid out for everyone to see combined with a section dedicated to examining each candidate on the issues. I feel this is something that HQ could copy and submit to papers in all the super tuesday states and beyond. If they cannot do it than we should because I have seen first hand how effective this is. To the best of my knowledge, this only ran in my local area and it is not funded or endorsed by the campaign.

2.) Again, I did not get this from some "super secret campaign source that you cannot know about". This was run in a local paper and it has been effective. I really do not see the need to delete this thread as I think everyone should be taking a look at this. We need to examine the format and come up with a plan to utilize something similar.

Here is a way to get this going...

Get this as a co-op advertising deal, get companies that can profit from this such as gold & silver dealers, t-shirt makers, publishers, etc, etc.

Put all the ad's on the last page stating "This independent informational paper has be brought to you by..." Make the advertising sponsorship obvious, otherwise it's easy for the reader to write off the information a propaganda.

Provide researchable resources in the paper. Things that have a lot of weight, (NOT wikipedia!) like a reference to the official government sites for most of the data.

Get some writers together for this, Lets find an editor to get a real newspaper feel.

Now for printing, most local newspapers can do contracting for small runs at a better rate than most large print shops. We need to get people to either do one of 2 things

1)Pay half with the co-sponsors to get the paper as a "throw-in" to be circulated with the normal delivery.
2)Get the local newspaper to print a run of say 50,000 copies and distribute to meetup groups to leave EVERYWHERE doctors office, restaurants, video rental store, banks, churches & especially during canvasing.

Get a website up tied to this paper, and don't show direct bias to Ron Paul, maybe put up several other libertarian candidates so it does not smell like propaganda.

magicmike
01-13-2008, 02:20 PM
I also forgot to mention that a lot of delivery drivers are independent contractors, there is usually nothing violating any rules about slipping a large route driver $50 to pass these around on the route.

I am in some talks with experienced people in the newspaper biz. Would like to get some suggestions on logistics of how to organize and distribute. This will need some centralization, can we get a PAC formed for this?
Here are some of the directions I would like to see this head towards.
1)I would like to make this a national paper
2)Funded through a co-op of national & local advertising and local meetup chipin's.
3)Would also like to set aside a section for showcasing local support
4)Have the paper be "somewhat open source" allowing the meetup groups to move the articles around to favor the interests of the area.
5)Use open source tools like GIMP and scribus to ensure the meetup groups don't have to spend an extra $800.
6)Focus on using the local newspaper's printers "off time" (middle of the day)
7)Maximize the meetup participation in this, currently there are over 90,562 Ron Paul Supporters in 1,557 Groups. As a example if every meetup group got 50,000 papers printed that is almost 78 million papers! (wait did I just say 78 million papers holy shit!)
8)The cost for a 50,000 run is between $1,200 to $4,000 would like to set aside a percentage that the meetup group needs to fund to ensure they are committed to the task.
9)Get some map data and statistics for good areas of distribution, make sure there are no double delivery.
10)Focus on mainstream with a philosophy "Illuminating the darkness in the mass media"
11)Get hard sources that can be easy to look up. ie... .gov sites, youtube links to media clips.

If there looks like there are enough people interested, I will get a site going to organize this.

Ok update: I am getting some writers together, need a editor and someone for layout. Privately recruiting some people that are good at source and fact checking. Depending on time I may call for graphic and photos. Main goal is to get a consistent layout that can be adapted by the meetup groups.
The paper will be released under a open source/creative commons license, in order to protect the writing from being changed and still allow permission to be distributed freely.

I'm at work and can't see these images because of the firewall. When I get home I'll take a look, but from your reactions, this also needs to be available in text format, easily indexed by search engines, so that any standard flyers, bumper stickers, etc. can point to the URL.

I have a virtual private server I could host it on, this would be a nice project for me.

I sent an email out and called, waiting for a reply. I suggested that they could release the articles under a creative commons Attribution No Derivatives copyright license. This would allow the articles to be protected from changes and keep original authorship, while at the same time allowing commercial and non-commercial distribution. This could be a big boost to creating our own version.

Maybe the method to get this produced should not be centralized. Just an idea to toss out here.
Create multiple online mirror "repositories" for articles, graphics & photos. Rule would be to ensure they have some type of creative commons license to protect the work while allowing free distribution.

This would be awesome as a newspaper insert or something. If you're talking about publishing this online in text format, from an SEO perspective, you only want one website with this material. If there a bunch of dupe sites, it will spread out the "link juice" and it will also trigger duplicate content filters in the search engines.

The best way to have something like this is to host it on one site only. If you want to have multiple URLs pointing to it, set them up as 301 (permanent) redirects and Google won't have a problem.

To help cut costs a little, start a subscription services, for RP members and then still send it out for free to the masses but have an optional, sign up and subscribe fee to help with costs...

Ok update,
Call for help here! Tried to send out this info to main meetup organizers in the "Super Tuesday" states but I am running into a "Spaming block". Is there any other way to contact meetup organizers? We will have a updated version of this paper ready by the end of this week! If people can jump on this and get some print run deals made we could have a good "starter" newspaper for the "Super Tuesday" states. This requires a print buy NOW since many printers need 1 week lead time. IF you live in a "ST" state please PM me so I can send you the info to pass on to the meetup leaders.

Not the entire 90,000 there (only about 37,000, at present), but that's a start.

More meetups are joining the alliance every day, I believe.

This is a very good project.

Ok. I have no meetup group here but I would throw 4000 papers on houses from my car if I had them. Please PM me and let me know, without fail, as you know I have been doing my little part on this for awhile..

Cricket I sent a PM to you.

Update: The Feb 5th print run is logistically impossible unless people can find a printer with a short lead time (most of them require a week)

The First national edition is continuing as planned, working with some important supporters to see if they will pick up on the management and administrative end of this.

So this will now be the new newspaper instead? I was polled today, a great big YES I'M VOTING for Arminio, a Ron Paul Republican! There was no comment from pollster.

magicmike

Margo37 Joe Arminio's paper "the American way" revised will be the basis for the first national edition and future editions will be hiring a professional staff using his paper as a model. Crystals paper is available right now, Joe's national revised one is not. That is why I am promoting hers to get something out before super Tuesday.

ArrestPoliticians Could you help Joe and myself by giving us your impression on a few things.

First thoughts from seeing some of the headlines?
Did any headline stick out more?
What was the first article you read?
Any article that stood out as a favorite?
Impression of using the word "Neocon" throughout the paper?

This is also for anybody else that has run into a hard copy, your responses can help me get more people behind this project.

OK at this moment I can not stress enough how important Crystal Broyles Ron Paul newspaper project is! She has a lot of guts to go out and do all the work of making a paper based exactly upon Ron Paul's ronpaul2008.com website.

Her Ron Paul newspaper thread
http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?t=104480&page=3

If funding for her project fails then we can be certain that funding for this one will fail too!

We do not want to distract from the 51st money bomb, but for those of you who have given your $2,300 and feel left out this is a way to give, She needs this RIGHT NOW, the bill is coming up and is $3,272.03 away from the first goal of 100,000 papers!
We were able to raise 30 times this before in a crunch time for the blimp, I don't see raising this small amount today as impossible!

Hey guys, I'm really glad you found this info! I helped distribute 500 or so of these papers to voters in MD's first District in January. Their goal was to put them on the doorsteps of every registered Republican in the 1st district, I haven't been in contact with them to see how that went. Anyway, I voted for him in the primary (absentee), although he's going up against incumbent Wayne Gilchrest (I think he's been representing us for 11 terms or so) and a wealthy Andy Harris (who I've seen signs of everywhere).

Anyway, I think it's a great idea to distribute these everywhere, change all of the articles concerning Arminio's positions and have them reflect Ron Paul's. Arminio is a doctor also - PhD in economics - so that should tell you something about how informed people respond to his economic policies ;)
