I've been looking, and all I've been able to find out is that it will be shown at 8am,
aug 5th on ABC, and it won't be live.

Here are my questions/concerns:

When does the actual debate happen, Saturday night?

Will any TV be covering it live? locally?

Is it even in front of an audience, or is this the youtube thing?

My fear is they will take a 2 hour debate and edit it into a 1 hour commercial for the "chosen" candidates, and the only way we will see Ron Paul is if he picks his nose or something, Or they will show an attack against him, and not show his response.

I searched around ABC's website for about 30 minutes and couldn't find jack about the debate.

anyone else have any info?

OK.....this is HUGE.

One thing that NEEDS to be done, at ALL costs....

Someone needs to videotape the entire debate with a HIGH quality video recorder so we can YOUTUBE this incase the MSM tries to bury him.

I appreciate the info so far, yea, it'll be great to youtube it.

But Ron Paul on BROADCAST TV is a HUGE opportunity, even at 8 AM, many more viewers, but the way it sounds like it's going to go, ABC will have the power to totally edit out RP, or make it a NEGATIVE event, by showing his 1 bad response if he has one.

I've been worrying about this every since I found out it wouldn't be live.

Some of us in Des Moines have been working on getting tickets. We're getting the run around so far but we'll keep on it. I don't think they have it figured out yet.

Thanks a bunch for that link.

OK, I'm stupid, it says it will be a live event, televised live.

I must have dreamt that "tape delayed" thing.

Maybe I just couldn't conceive of them doing a big live event at 8AM

sorry everyone for my misinformation, it was unintentional.

This is not going to be allowed due to copyright conflicts. ABC has the rights, and therefore, no one is going to be allowed to videotape it and broadcast it live before they do.

Will do.

I'm wondering if this will be tape-delayed 2 hours for the Mountain and Pacific time zones. Do they really think people out west will tune in at 6 or 7 AM? I'm sure this will be cleared up soon.

Looks like it will be 8 am CST (Iowa), to coincide with G. Steph's regular Sunday show "This Week":

well you were not really wrong completely.

It will be broadcast out live to all the local stations, but then localities have the choice to replay it anytime they want. The same thing happens with GS's normal sunday program.

Don't worry about it. I was also sure it would be taped, because I also couldn't imagine them holding a live debate at 8am. I'm glad it'll be live though, because I had the same concern as yours.
