LET'S WIN THE ILLINOIS PRIMARY FOR DR. PAUL BEFORE IT STARTS!

We have waited a long time to be able to cast a ballot for a candidate for President who believes in restoring our Constitution, and beginning Monday, January 14, Illinoisans can begin voting for Ron Paul in the Republican primary.

We are asking all Ron Paul supporters to take advantage of the convenience of Early Voting and avoid long lines at the polls on Election Day. We have listed all of the Early Voting locations by county below. Early Voting begins Monday, January 14 and runs through January 31. If your county is not listed below, please contact your County Clerk's Office.

Simply go to your Early Voting location and present a valid government-issued photo ID and ask for a Republican ballot. Please remember not only to vote for Ron Paul for President but also for the Delegates who are pledged to support Ron Paul (this will be clearly indicated on your ballot).

BRING A FRIEND A DAY!

We are also asking you to make it your mission to bring a different friend, relative, or co-worker who supports Ron Paul to the Early Voting location nearest you each and every day until Early Voting ends on January 31.

Today I voted for Ron Paul and his delegates during lunch at a local village hall (in the same county).

In Cook Country they do not want to see your voter registration card. What they want to see is a government issued photo id card since you are not voting at your local precinct.

I am in Illinois and just got a recorded call (very well done, by the way) informing me of the early voting and encouraging me to vote for Ron Paul who will uphold the Constitution. The message also referred me to ronpaul2008.com to find where to vote. So glad to hear this going on in my state

I got that call too (my answering machine cut it off at the end... :( .) I've realized that this should actually be really beneficial for grassroots efforts here in Illinois.

The state law requires that a registered voter show valid photo identification before
voting early. Voters casting an early ballot must display a current driver's license, a
state-issued ID card or another government-issued ID with a photograph.

Previously, voters who wanted to vote early had to request an absentee ballot and offer a
reason, such as being physically incapacitated or out of the County on Election Day. Since
absentee voting laws remain in place, those people can still cast an absentee vote by mail by
providing a reason as required under law.

Any voter who requests an "Early Ballot" or an "In Person Absentee Ballot" MAY NOT go to the
polls on Election Day and revoke the ballot he originally requested. The law prohibits any voter
who has been issued an in person absentee or early ballot from appearing at his precinct polling
place and requesting another ballot.

My husband and I voted in Belleville today. Although we had to take off our RP caps, I did take pictures of the relevant touch screens and of the "receipt" paper that is shown through the window. I was told that these machines are for early voting only -- at the primary, voters will fill in circles.
