Anti-Americanism is a term used to bash any body that doesn't accept the status quo. Whats wrong with having different ideas about how to solve the nation's problems? Why are people attacked for those ideas by being called anti-americans?? Isn't democracy the ability to have one's thought brought to light with out being harassed and ridiculed by opposing viewpoints?? Who benefits from the "your anti-american" propaganda???

Quote of "Understanding Power" by Noam Chomsky

We don't want to be "anti-American," to use the standard term-which in itself is a pretty startling propaganda triumph, actually. Like, go to Italy and try using the word "anti-Italianism," call somebody there "anti-Italian" and just see what happens-they'd crack up in ridicule. But here those totalitarian values really do mean something to people, because there have been very extensive and systematic efforts to control the population in ways like that, and they have been highly successful. I mean, there's a huge public relations industry in the United States, and it doesn't spend billions of dollars a year for nothing, you know.

Doesn't this next quote in bold sound like you either accept the status quo of US policies or your an enemy of the United States. Does this thought process embrace democracy where even ideas of the minority can be heard???
Terrorism is a tactic of war that even the United States uses. Wouldn't a smart bomb taking out a building in your neighborhood strike terror into you?? How is it possible to have war on what is a tactic of war?? Why is the statement made of "war on terror" when there's no declaration of war made on any specific enemy? Who benefits from this???

Address to a Joint Session of Congress and the American People by the President
September 20, 2001

Our response involves far more than instant retaliation and isolated strikes. Americans should not expect one battle, but a lengthy campaign, unlike any other we have ever seen. It may include dramatic strikes, visible on TV, and covert operations, secret even in success. We will starve terrorists of funding, turn them one against another, drive them from place to place, until there is no refuge or no rest. And we will pursue nations that provide aid or safe haven to terrorism. Every nation, in every region, now has a decision to make. Either you are with us, or you are with the terrorists. (Applause.) From this day forward, any nation that continues to harbor or support terrorism will be regarded by the United States as a hostile regime.
