People that are more versed in arguing Dr Paul's positions should join the raging debate on facebook discussion boards. Could win us people.

When I went over there the page kept reloading itself so fast I was afraid it would give me a migraine. It was pulsing at a dangerous rate. Kind of like that London 2012 Olympics ad.

i schooled everyone in a polite way for about an hour earlier, showed tons of huckabee supporters that he supported quarantining aids patients in 92'. I got a few off the fence for huck, and made some fairly decent arguements for RP's Viability, i just dont have the strength to deal with the idiots for longer than i did.

Ok guys the problem is too many people are commenting to have a clear arguement.

So I threw up a quick groups called on facebook called " The Ron Paul platform "

I need some of you to join it asap then pick out people who say crazy things about ron paul's platform like " he will abolish public schools" private message these people to join the group.

I made discussion threads for each topic. We should be able to "help" a bunch of people who are just very confused about his message.

Join this group " The Ron Paul platform"

I would like to discuss with you any concerns you have about Dr. Paul Brian Schittig

Report Messagemy concern is that with him in office he will be the last president the nation ever has
hes setting us up for attack
thats my concern Zak Kubin

Ron Paul advocates pulling back our forces to our Country. This will save tons of money, allow us to strengthen our own defense and as a bonus eliminate much of the reason people hate us.

So why exactly do you believe that he is setting us up for an attack? Brian Schittig

Report Messagebecasue they will see the withdrawal as a sign of weekens and attack us based on that
then since we are pulling out of alliances we wont have any back in retaliation
therefor
ron paul president in 2008 will equal no more US after him Zak Kubin

But ask yourself who "they" is. Main stream media would like you to believe that Paul is making these theories on foreign policy up. If you do some research you will find out the truth.

In short: There are a SMALL group of fundamental islamics ( Bin Laden).
These people have no country or military. So they recruit people to join their cause. These fundamentalist point to things such as us favoring Isreal, our influence on EVERYTHING in the region even supporting dictators who the people hate, but most of all they point to our occupation of their holy land.

Make no mistake Paul wants to kill these fundamentalist but he also wants to squash some of the incentive that causes the hate. Yes if we withdraw the fundamentalist will claim victory. But then how would they convince people to join them for suicide bombing? They could no longer point at local American influence in their towns or governments.

The alternative that is offered is that we remain in the middle east forever fighting "them" But the problem is "them" is only growing as our solution helps motivate more hate and reason to become a fundamentalist in the first place.
Brian Schittig

Report Messagethe hatred for us is so powerful that they will make up reasons to hate us
they dnt need any
if you hate someone and i mean truly hate someone
and you dnt see them for a while
are you gonna hate them any less or is your hatred for hem gonna build up so much that they next time you see them you wanna punch them in the face
leaving isnt solving its running away
showing signs of weekness Zak Kubin

Yes this very very small group die hard al queda memberswill always hate us. But know they are not the ones doing the suicide bombing. They plan attacks and RECRUIT people to blow themselves up. If you eliminate the incentive for average Islamics to hate us this small group of haters no longer has the power to convince people to join their cause.

As far as showing a sign of weakness- we ultimatly win this way.

You understand that this small group of people will hate us no matter what. Thats why their only goal is to kill us. So understand that you are promoting what they want you to do. They want America to be in the region so they can easliy kill U.S. troops. At the same time they are using our occupation to maintain a steady supply of volunteers to join up as suicide bombers.

My Favorite Poster:

"You said Ron Paul believes in the constitution. It was Huckabee who quoted the Constitution during the debate!"

LOL, I sent him a message. "FYI it was the Declaration of Independence."

Check out what Mr. Travis says, " Yes, Ron Paul's views are not based on fact. He comes accross as a socialist waiving democratic flag. Ron's platform is to shallow! I seems to be speaking to the far fringe of society. He is totally out of touch!!"

I assume from that response that you believe we'll become the victim of a nuclear terrorist attack, then?

not neccesarily
we will be attacked however
as soon as we remove from the middle east it will show a sign of weekenss these terrosist will jump on this at once
also with the removal from the UN and NATO and any alliances when we retaliate these attacks we will be by ourselves and even though we are the best militarily
we wont win a war by ourselves

Mike Burke

I'll make a couple points

1. There is no developed country in the world, or terrorist network, that can defeat our military one-on-one without bringing nuclear weapons to bear. This is especially true considering that any likely opponent would have to cross an ocean.

2. If our major threat is terrorists, as you claim, our involvement in the UN and NATO is irrelevant - in fact, we've been in terrible standing with the UN and NATO since long before Bush was in office and both organizations still supported us through 9/11.

3. If terrorists to intend to carry out a MAJOR attack, be it with nuclear weapons or not, they're not going to waste time detonating it at a military base overseas. They'll try to do it here. If that's the case, wouldn't it be better to have our military here securing our borders instead of spread out across 130 countries?

I do understand your point about retraction from the Middle East being perceived as a sign of weakness, and it's something I worry about, as well.

There will always be nuts that want to kill us - it doesn't matter if we're over there or not. I think that we REDUCE that number by a very large percentage if we stop giving them good reasons to do it, though - additionally, we'll be better able to protect ourselves with our army HERE and not in the Middle East.

yes it is good ot have them here for an attack here
but as long as there is the strongest military knocking on there doors every day they wont attack us here again so we wont need all of our troops here
needing our troops home will only be neccesarry if we bring them home in the first place
im all for direct pressure over there
keep the bullets away us you kno

Thanks for that - I try to be reasonable, and most of the supporters I've met are - the problem is that the nuts post repeatedly and it's hard to get in a word edgewise. As you know, the minority usually gives a bad rap to the entire lot.

We'll just have to agree to disagree on whether being over there or at home protects us better. Truth be told, we don't know either way and I hope we never have to find out.

It's so ridiculous that people forget that Al-Qaeda is all over the world. It's like people just forget completely about Southeast Asia/Phillippines/Indonesia. If they were training to come over here, the do NOT have to train in the Middle East. They've got lots of remote places to train in.

That said, the rhetoric on our end over there is a bit high.

I understand support, even fanatical support, but you don't have to stoop to calling people idiots. Even if they deserve it. Even if they just called YOU an idiot.

How to you expect to convert them when you put them off right at the start?

Besides, way more people are lurking and reading the threads. You might gain 5 for every measured response you make. If we do nothing more than make people inquisitive and want to learn more about the platform, we've done a great service to the campaign on there.

I've gotten a bunch of responses today like this:

In over 6 months, I have received two responses like that, where I am not just called stupid and unintelligent, from Paul supporters. Thank you for that! Really! So this is what I do not understand. If we eliminate the FBI and CIA, who is going to do recon work and analyze the data? This is a HUGe concern for me. I am prior military and we are stretched way to thin already. we can not carry the CIA and FBI load as well. Also, is Paul wanting to remove troops from other countries? Again, thank you!! =)

Please don't label me as a troll - I'm just trying to help. I'm a precinct captain (MD 06-08-006), donate every cent I can, and really want this to happen.

I just fear that many of us burn bridges with people we can convert!
