Is this really DIGG WORTHY?

http://www.reuters.com/article/pressRelease/idUS10128+06-Jan-2008+BW20080106

ST. ANSELM, N.H.--(Business Wire)--Congressman Ron Paul took time from his campaign schedule in New
Hampshire to issue the following statement:

"I wish to extend my sympathy to the people of Fernley, Nevada and
all surrounding areas affected by floods caused by recent winter
storms.

"My sympathies and prayers are with the people of Nevada during
this difficult time, and I wish them a speedy and safe recovery."

Gee, maybe I'll digg what Ron Paul had for breakfast or what color socks he had on today.

(for those who can't read between the lines....stop digging every bit of Ron Paul info you come across)

So, floods that destroy 800 homes have no place in Digg?

Certainly... but not RP's response to it!

Why not? Does it violate Digg's TOS, or is just your inability to deal with things that you don't agree with?

It is the #1 reason that there even is a Ron Paul bury brigade. If we post hundred diggs a day then they all get watered down for being so many. If we pick the best and most important then its less annoying to those that use digg on a regular basis for other things

Instead of worrying about the battle between yourselves and the bury brigade think about the people who actually use Digg to find Ron Paul news.

To me, as someone who found out about Ron Paul through social-bookmarking sites, I don't agree with what you say here. If Digg is your sole source of Ron Paul news then I doubt you would even bother going out to vote.

People that care about RP news (of this nature, e.g. Nevada statement) get it through others means. Unless it's extremely pertinent, there's no point to Digg it. In fact, I was gripped by the articles submitted that had real substance to them. If I weren't an RP fan already, and instead, a Digger on the fringe of being involved with politics, I'd be beyond annoyed at the flood of seemingly irrelevant RP news and would inadvertently be turned off to Ron Paul.

With that said, I'll end with simply: I agree with what UtahApocalypse has said.
