This is what I've been trying to tell anyone who would listen ever since this campaign began.

Ever notice that when you see a candid picture or youtube video of a sign waving or freeway overpass banner you usually can't read what the sign says because the letters are too small and/ or the sign is being blocked by another person or a car?


2 rules of political signs: 1) always use signs with letters that are twice the size you think they need to be. 2) Have it on top of a pole that is twice as tall as you think it needs to be.

LOL, it was great. First the Camera only saw a sea of hillary signs. I think the commentator actual said 'here is a live shot of the democraic supporter area' or something.


Out of no where as the camera is panning back and forth this big RP sign comes up over the top of EVERYTHING.. It just kept getting closer to the camera.. it was kind of sureal. By the time it was fully extended it was pretty close. Just fluttering there sideways right in the camera shot.

I think what made it so noticable was that it was obviously just stuffed in the face of a bunch of hillary supporters.

THe camera guy paned about 3 seconds over to the end of the line and cuaght another RP sign about half the size on the end. When it when back... bam the big RP sign was still there.

You might be able to roughly edit it by using Windows Movie Maker, a standard program that comes with all windows systems.

Trim it with Windows Moviemaker and you can encode with Avidemux(free)
dont forget to use X264 codec...it will shrink to just a fraction, and yes use avi container.

I am trying anything I can think of, and right now am converting it to MPEG4 with IPOD converter.

I wouldn't have even been there if not for a fellow RP supporter paying for my airline ticket to NH from Rochester, MN (actually from Chicago....I took a train from Rochester to Chicago) using his frequent flyer miles and yet another providing lodging, transportation, etc for a group of us (including the RPF admin). I've never enjoyed "working" so much!

I'll keep your ideas in my head! :) A digital billboard on a stick and remote control blimps are both great ideas! 2012 seems so far away. Plenty of time to figure something out! :)

Wow! It's been 12 years! I wish I was going to be in New Hampshire for Rand! That 2008 trip, and campaign, is still a time in my life I will never forget! All the friends I made during that time, the education that I received, and good times had will never be forgotten.
