Huckabee: We're all created equal...except gays, and guys that will die in iraq and never see their families again... similar to rudies proxy answer, refer to regan. Huckabee defers his answer to "life liberty and property" can't go wrong quoting someone else's well received publicly agreed upon script.

Health Savings accounts are such a fallacy. As I understand it, they expire every single year or something. My firm pays for 100% of my healthcare, and I wish we could get more firms to do that, but when I worked for a firm that didn't pay for my healthcare, I rolled the dice and opted-out of HSA's.

There really isn't a good solution. You can't mandate people to stay healthy. You can't mandate people not fall ill with diseases they can't prevent.

All you can do is ask people to save-up for their own healthcare, and hopefully when health issues inevitably arise, they have some funds to pay for it.

Dr. Paul should have vocalized his opinion of free market medicine in that question.. he sort of rambled, and I could barely understand what he was saying.. yes, I get it.. come home and save money overseas etc.. but that will save the govt lots of money. However, the federal govt shouldnt be paying for everyones insurance, so coming home isnt going to do anything to solve the medical problem. I'm a medical student and McCain's plan is the worst thing I have ever heard of. He's trying to have the government and insurance companies give bonuses based on treatment methods. HSA's work best when you already know how much you will have to spend, otherwise you risk losing money with them. So if you know you have a huge operation planned they are great, but if you just want to use one for just in case its not such a good idea.

hsa accounts and insurance is a red herring if you really want to solve the problem. The real problem is regulation.

regulation regulation regulation regulation regulation regulation.

med dental pharmacy vet schools etc graduate about 1/2 the number of Dr's that it would take to meet demand.

it is a supply/demand problem brought about by letting the AMA ADA etc regulate their own output. It chokes off supply just like a union does.
