“Peace, Freedom & the Patriots” –
an idea for a 6-day period of massive grassroots activism punctuated by DOOR TO DOOR canvassing, massive sign-waving and marches and pep rallies akin to the ones we had on Tea Party. The main focus should be, above all the Peace & Freedom Message via the historical events that I've dredged up from Wikipedia

January 12
-To celebrate the birthday of John Hancock (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Hancock) (1737), we have a mini money-bomb for two outstanding “Ron Paul” Republicans running for Congress, Dean Santoro (FL) and Theodore Terbolizard (CA). Donate 5-20$ to each candidate at www.delcarefreedom08.com

January 13
-(1733) James Oglethorpe (“http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_Oglethorpe”) and the 130 colonists arrive in Charleston, South Carolina. Oglethorpe and his colonists would later found the colony of Georgia one month later. Oglethorpe was against slavery and banned it in his colony until a series of political and military defeats forced him to lift the ban in 1750
-(1847) The Treaty of Cahuenga (“http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Treaty_of_Cahuenga”) ends the Mexican-American War in California, allowing the Californios to return home after giving up their artillery and leading to the release of prisoners on both sides
*This is when we should start donating to the Official Ron Paul Campaign. Set a goal of $1-1.5M per day, for a total goal of $5-7M for the 5-day run.

January 14
-(1784) The United States ratifies a peace treaty with England!

January 15
-(1716) Birthday of Philip Livingston (“http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Philip_Livingston”) one of the founding fathers and a Signatory of the Declaration of Independence
-(1777) “New Connecticut” (Present Day Vermont) declares Independence from England
-(1929) Birthday of Martin Luther King Jr. (“http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Martin_Luther_King_Jr”) an American Civil Rights Leader
-(1973) Citing progress in peace negotiations, President of the United States Richard Nixon announces the suspension of offensive action in North Vietnam!

January 16
-(1786) National Religious Freedom Day (“http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Religious_Freedom_Day”), a commemoration of the Virginia General Assembly's adoption of Thomas Jefferson's landmark Virginia Statute for Religious Freedom. This vital document became the basis for the separation of church and state, and led to freedom of religion for all Americans as protected in the religion clause in the U.S. Constitution's First Amendment.

January 17
-(1706) Birthday of Ben Franklin
-(1961) U.S. President Dwight D. Eisenhower delivers a televised farewell address to the nation three days before leaving office, in which he warns against the accumulation of power by the "military-industrial complex."
