This is the fourth Ron Paul mailer I've received in Michigan. I haven't received anything from any other candidates. It says on the front it was sent to over 1,000,000 people!
This new one is interesting.. I didn't even know it was about Ron Paul until I opened it up.. The front and back just said "Voter Guide" and did not mention ANYTHING about Ron Paul... but once you open it up...

We got those here in WV too, along six other mailers:
National Defense - "Hunting down Osama bin Laden & taking him out IS JOB #1"
The Economy - "Home Foreclosures up, energy costs up, value of a dollar down, but there is hope for America..."
The US-Mexico Social Security Totalization Agreement -- "Heading soon to Mexico City - your Social Security Dollars!"
Federal Spending - "Only one man has had the courage, conviction, and common sense to say 'no' to the Washington tax-and-spend crowd."
Immigration - "Ron Paul's Six-Point Plan will put an end to immigration nonsense."
And a big fold-out mailer with the same stuff that's in the 12-page bio booklet available in the campaign store...

My only worry are the pro-life and education sections. I know in South Carolina and the south these will go over GREAT! But I'm not sure slamming Unions and being so blatantly pro-choice is the way to go in Michigan.
That said, at least he's being honest which is what the people of this country need for their politicians.

It probably won't hurt much in the GOP, apx. 40-60% of the country depending on the exact wording of a question hold pro-life views, and almost 35% of the country is Republican, so it probably doesn't hurt much in the GOP, and most of those votes were heading to the Ghoul anyway.

RP is one shrewd politician. He's a lot more capable than most realize and they completely underestimate him. Just listen to what his dem. and rep. competitors in TX congressional races have to say. He can't be bought, his principles can not be manipulated and he knows how to fight to win.
Thats the kind of leader we need.

Well, I guess that's better than misspelling "Reagan" like they did in NH!
It's good IF it addresses the concerns of voters in Michigan (I've not seen good crosstabs on the polls there so I'm not making a case either way). It's about as late as one can go negative in a race there. I hope they end on a positive note. ;)

Sorry if this has already been posted.
WHO are these going to? If these are going to a select few, it doesn't matter.
If this is going to tens of thousands.. then it matters.
Who are getting these?
I think this is a great mailer: short and sweet without paragraphs of text. It forces someone to make a choice between candidates as one would at the voting booth.
Someone should make a printable version of this if it doesn't already exist.
BTW: my 1st post, but I've been hooked on the RPforums, donated to two money bombs, bought 25 yard signs, donated to blimp, bought a t-shirt, marched in atlanta for Ron Paul, joined 2 RP meetups and canvassed, commented on slanted news, have a pocket copy of the US constitution, wrote letters to MI and SC, and emailed the crap out of fox newbs.
I want everyone to stay tough and positive on this forum especially the newbies for tomorrow. There are a lot of states to take and this is a very mixed up race. It is the perfect storm for Ron Paul to win with the message of freedom.

The mailer looks excellent.
I understand why you might not have included foreign policy but anyone who investigates further will encounter RP's foreign policy so it might be better to include something (my website might help).
The immigration part at least can include the anti-terrorism visas.
I understand the upside down flag as a distress symbol but others might take offense unless there is an explanatory caption.
The other images are OK but could be much stronger if they show RP in action.
Recommended images to show authority, experience, and family:
RP in military uniform
RP as doctor
RP in Congress grilling Greenspan or Bernanke
RP with wife
RP with children
Good work.

Oh - I'm a graphic artist & working on putting these into a self-made brochure that can be mailed (#10 envelope size) or just handed out. Any meetups can use them when I get 'em done - I'll post links to a high-res PDF. Would like to make one towards Dems & Independents, though.. Or maybe doing all 3 in one brochure? Thoughts?

Excellent.
Remember everyone, Dr. Paul is good at this... and at holding out for the long haul.
That's the only way he kept his job in TX with all the vitriol directed at him by Congressional opponents. He kept his job by convincing his constituents that they shouldn't be angry with him for not sending a lot of money back to their district...out of principle! And by sticking to his guns through thick and thin, and being genuinely trustworthy and like-able.
Difference is, they knew him there. The U.S. doesn't know him well enough yet. That's where we come in.
That's good politicking. Keep it up!

The "Life" section is inaccurate. It should talk more about giving it back to the states instead of insinuating that he will make the opposite federal mandate as Roe V Wade
"Sancity of Life Act" would have overturned Roe v Wade and return abortion handling to the states where it was originally. However Ron Paul's "Life Begins at Conception Act" would have made abortion a crime by legally defining zygotes and embryos as human beings. Essentially, this is a one-two punch that would require the states to determine severity and punishment for the crime of abortion (much like the states manage murder and other violent crime).

I agree this is good stuff for Republican Voters.
This is encouraging. But I would also add....this is the kind of mailer for Closed primary states, for open primary states, targeting independents is more profitable.
In NH you have 40% independents, 30% republicans. I think it was gaffle ansd a waste of money sending this to NH. This will only win a percantage of Rebublican voters in NH. RPs antiwar views could have pulled the independents in a much greater quantity in NH. This ad should ONLY be sent to red states, or blue states with closed primaries....sending this to NH republicans is a waste....I sure hope this mailer is arriving in South Carolina.....its perfect for there.

NOW what they need to do - and this costs virtually nothing - is make a SPECIAL AREA of the ronpaul2008 official site that contains all these mailers so people canvassing by phone can direct newcomers to this simple introduction to Ron Paul.
If there are SIX mailers, at page should contain a simple simple simple SIX option menu - one for each mailer. Then on the phone (or anywhere) canvassers could say - instead of "Google Ron Paul" - go to ronpaul2008.com/introduction or something.
Even better would be a dedicated URL like ronpaulintro.com - something ultra easy to use, easy to read, containing simple information that gets the point across.
I'm thinking primarily of older people here - make it easy, don't ask them to google or youtube, send them right to the heard of the matter.

Even better would be a dedicated URL like ronpaulintro.com - something ultra easy to use, easy to read, containing simple information that gets the point across.
I'm thinking primarily of older people here - make it easy, don't ask them to google or youtube, send them right to the heard of the matter.
You want the older vote? Most of em don't have computers...the ONLY way you will reach them is the 5 or 6 O.clock local news....or the 6:30 national news......or a lesser amount in the sunday newspaper....your kidding yourself if you think you will get more than 15% of the over 50 crowd to look something up online.

My dad is 65 and he emails all his friends and buys travel tickets online all the time - but he doesn't google proficiently and he doesn't youtube at all - I'm not talking 85, I'm talking 55-69 and tons of them have computers believe me! All we have to catch is one of them, they will pass the message along to their social network after that...

My dad is 59 and he is the biggest Ron Paul supporter ever basically. He found out about him online! He's just a working professional.
Most white collar workers DO get online.

I received another mailer today. It also has a comparison with the candidates (although shorter), and a big fold out talking about Ron Paul.

I don't know... I'm not registered republican or anything. One of my other lady-friends got a mailing as well.. I have no clue how they are getting our addresses or why us instead of others.

I agree these are good mailers when talking to the republican base,
BUT, they will not appeal to Democrats or independents that lean Democrat. Mainly because they do not mention the war.
I think Ron Paul could get a huge portion of the Democrat vote if he sent a mailer to the affect: "stop the war, NOW.". This is how I converted a couple of lifelong Democrats---he can end the war and fix our foreign policy right away.

Also, as a Libertarian personally, I probably would not have looked at these mailers twice.
They come across as typical Republican rhetoric. I know that in the case of Ron Paul, it is not. But if I did not know who he was I would have thought he was just another R trying to sell a load of goods.
He should have a mailer to the affect: Restore the constitution and defend our civil liberties (If there is not one already). Something like this would probably make me look twice.

Awesome! Best media -- of any type -- that I've seen from the campaign so far.
