View Full Version : We HAVE to win!

I am 45 years old and over my lifetime I have watched a great many changes in our society, beginning with Ronald Reagan, who was the first president I was able to vote for. Over the course of the intervening 27 years, I have witnessed a shrinking of personal liberties and a growth of government that boggles the mind and I have to say, I am devastated by what our republic has become. Ron Paul IS the last hope for America - make no mistake about it. We have suffered through decades of Bush/Clinton to come to the realization that the government stays the same - no matter who is the president. They all work for the same thing - the destruction of America and the praise of the global community. To put it plainly - FUCK the global community! We are America. We are SUPPOSED to be different! We have a constitution which puts all others to shame - it guarantees that our government is for the people, not against the people... BUT, it has been reinterpreted, and misdirected and the American people have been taught to believe the fallacy, not the truth. Ron Paul is bringing the truth to the American people and those who attack him, those who disparage him, are against America and against the constitution. They want something that the constitution doesn't give us - a socialist, military, nation. This IS Ron Paul's last chance - don't give up and don't forget what we are fighting for.

To paraphrase the words of another poster, "FIGHT YOUR GUTS OUT!"

This is not a rehearsal. We can win. We will win. The message will soon reach critical mass.

As my old football coach used to say "leave your guts on the field because if you bring anything back you will regret it for the rest of your life"

Yes, but we simply MUST take it to the streets.... handing out campaign literature door-to-door. Hardly anyone knows about him yet and we can't make that happen on the internet alone.

I've been handing out fliers pretty regularly and tonight, at a town election for the budget, I had the opportunity to hand a flyer to our town representative to the state government. That doesn't mean he'll vote for him, but it's important that he got it.
Personally, since I was an intern at the state legislature, I was able to watch him in action and I KNOW he'll become a Ron Paul supporter in CT.

Listen, Ron Paul is floating at the top of Technorati's top searches, but I saw Huckabee lurking at the bottom and hoping to rise! And the other day I saw a Fred Thompson bumper sticker on someone's car. It looked real good and I got scared. This is a real grassroots campaign!

Why the fuck would huckabee be getting alot of searches? Who cares about mike huckabee?

I STILL DON'T UNDERSTAND THE FRED THOMPSON LOVE? He isn't even running yet- i had never even heard of him until like a month ago. Why is he suddenly a big frontrunner..even if he hasnt entered yet? Maybe because, oh i dont know, the mainstream media has been pushing and pushing him ad nauseum?

I can sympathize. I am 39 and have been hearing every year for as long as I can remember, about increasing budget deficits and spending that never stops growing, no matter who is in power. Ron Paul is the only candidate in the Republican slate I can believe when he says he will **CUT** spending.

Sheep will be sheep. They'll graze on whatever grass the mainstream media feeds them. But I have to admit I was fooled myself a few times. :D

Fred Thompson has been running for president since January. He's been campaigning among the power brokers of the party and through its mouthpieces.

He is the establishment candidate, at the first debate my neocon associates were calling them the "VP debates".

If he wasn't running we'd be doing a lot better IMO, when he announces everything changes because he'll have to live up to the hype, which he doesn't.

I think he'll put it off as long as he possibly can.

Our strategy has to take the Thompson effect into account, if he doesn't go the distance we win.

Silverback, you sound pretty well informed.

Do you think Newt will enter the race later in the game? And if so how big a threat is he to the Ron Paul campaign?

This is KEY...listen to Liberty Eagle......

We DON'T have the media on our side.

We NEVER will have the media on our side. Even if we pull in 15 mil in q3 donations....the ONLY stories they will put on TV about Ron Paul will be 95% negatively slanted. I GURANTEE you if we pulled in 15 mil in Q3 donations the people on MSNBC WON'T let happen appearances like Ron Paul on Tucker today.

I don't care how many letters you write to them....it won't make a difference!

We NEED to do an END RUN around the media.

We NEED to print Trifolds and Slimjims off the official Ron Paul website.

We NEED to hit the streets. Everyday and spread the word!

We have the internet covered!

There are LOTS of people who ARE NOT INTERNET USERS! Especially 50+ Years in age!

There are a LOT of people in this country who are THIRSTY for Ron Paul's message.

We just NEED to enlighten them to it 1 person at a time....

Because if we tell 10 people Ron Paul's message....

And they tell 10 people......

And so on...

And so on....

We will get the message out there and make our chances very realistic!

because people want something different, and he is a celebrity, sort of, so they think he will be different and change things.
we need to get the word out much more, so those people know Paul is the answer to their wishes.

Yes, to the streets.

I hope the campaign will update the tri-folds. I think they would be more effective if they said "For President" on the front of them. Most people have never heard of Ron Paul.

yes, it should always say for president, as so many have not heard of him yet.
and in person is effective, as it IS true about some people not using the internet.
today someone really did say they do not trust what's on the internet.

GOD does anyone else have this problem: when we are handing out flyers so many people say "running for president of what?"

and we say OF AMERICA.....under our breaths no, president of tulsa...

people are so dumb

I don't think he'll jump in unless Thompson doesn't for some reason, or if he falls apart. If he did he'd be no real threat, though he is a more reasonable guy than the current frontrunners. I don't think he'll have time to build momentum after Thompson founders, assuming he does.

I think Gingrich might actually be more interested in being VP...

buffalokid777, I really don't mean to single you out, but I've read this all over the place, and it's just not true.

There are LOTS of people who ARE NOT INTERNET USERS! Especially 50+ Years in age!

In fact, we 50-year olds were the first generation of PC users! We grew up on DOS and we still know how to use a command line. PUHLEASE! Show a little respect for your elders!:D

I disagree,

Most of my moms friends are in the 50-80 range.....

They are mostly internet challenged...to the tune of 95%+ Consider yourself the exception to the rule...

None of em heard of Ron Paul.....

THEY HAVE NOW!

50-80 is not a demographic. I cannot believe that you're lumping me in with 80-year olds! That's my mother's age.

People my age ushered in the era of the PC and were the first to use the Internet. Well, that's not entirely accurate. People who used DARPA are even older.

That's why I laugh when people are concerned about Dr. Paul's age. He's 71 or 72 for God's sake; he doesn't have one foot in the grave.

I understand your point--many older people don't run to the Internet first thing in the a.m. and we must reach them. Please understand my point.

FIFTY IS THE NEW THIRTY. :D :D :D

here's an idea for the rest of y'all!

I go up to the university of maine branch here in my town and use their resouces ALL the time..........i print out lots of stuff.

I'm printing out hundreds more flyers today to hand out!

If you're near a school (and everybody is) especially a university take advantage of it and use the resources!!!

you can do color and black and white - i do alot of b/w so not to drain their system!

I'm 17 and agree with you 100%. I'm living proof that the concept of liberty is appealing among young people. We don't want the government in our lives.

My problem is the fact that I live in Baltimore (Maryland). The people here are like the Borg. They will automatically vote Democrat no matter what, and will accept whatever the politicians do without question. Baltimore County (where I live) is slightly better, but hardly big enough to make a difference. Though, we do have a decent amount of Libertarians here.

The above person is speaking the truth. I'll tell you what we're doing here in Orlando. We've had to 'Get the Ron Paul Message Out' events. Now we go for broke. I've called on ALL CENTRAL FLORIDA meetups to join us for our Ron Paul MEGA March Message.' We're going to have at least 100 people line the main street through Orlando. We'll be waiving signs and handing out literature to cars at stop lights. Now that's what I call 'taking it to the streets.'
