werent there any delegates that were Paul supporters selected already? I wonder why their decsion would take so long to clarify if it's that simple?

You would think that the results would already be well known well before today.

Wyoming gets 14 delegates to the national convention. 12 of them are being determined today, at county conventions. The other 2 are determined at the state convention on May 30th (high drama, waiting for those 2 key delegates.)

You would think that the results would already be well known well before today.

But there are 800 people voting today for 12 delegate positions. They probably have to go through the speeches and the party business and the voting and all that first.

Some conventions haven't even started yet.

Looks like the delegates have to get a majority at their county convention, too, not just a plurality, so the voting takes several rounds. See an example here:
