"Manchester – UnionLeader.com has learned that the New Hampshire Republican Party has quit as a co-sponsor of tomorrow night's nationally televised GOP forum on FOX News.

The 8 p.m. event at Saint Anselm College -- the last debate before Tuesday's primary -- had become controversial when FOX refused to include Ron Paul.

More details will be posted shortly."

Update:

Confirmed by Boston.com as well:

The NH Gop drops sponsorship of FOX Debate

The New Hampshire Republican Party dropped their affiliation with a Republican debate sponsored by Fox News tomorrow night because they have limited the number of candidates that can participate.

“The first-in-the-nation New Hampshire primary serves a national purpose by giving all candidates an equal opportunity on a level playing field," said Republican chair Fergus Cullen. "Only in New Hampshire do lesser known, lesser funded underdogs have a fighting chance to establish themselves as national figures."

The Fox debate is excluding Texas Congressman Ron Paul even though he polls higher in New Hampshire and has raised significantly more money, and is campaigning more in New Hampshire than Fred Thompson who is invited.

At this point, after the NH Republican Party has withdrawn its support for the FAUX forum, I'd say any of the other candidates still planning to attend have a lot of explaining to do. Let's nail them on this! It's time to contact our competitors campaigns and ask them why they're still planning on attending the NH Forum when it isn't even supported by the NH GOP!

Granite State Republicans pull debate support
Posted: 11:55 AM ET

MANCHESTER, New Hampshire (CNN) — The New Hampshire Republican Party announced Saturday that it was withdrawing as a partner of Sunday’s primary debate on FOX because of the exclusion of two GOP presidential hopefuls.

"The first-in-the-nation New Hampshire primary serves a national purpose by giving all candidates an equal opportunity on a level playing field. Only in New Hampshire do lesser known, lesser funded underdogs have a fighting chance to establish themselves as national figures,” New Hampshire Republican Party Chairman Fergus Cullen said in a statement.

“The New Hampshire Republican Party believes Congressmen Ron Paul and Duncan Hunter should be included in the FOX forum on Sunday evening. Our mutual efforts to resolve this difference have failed."

Supporters of presidential candidates Ron Paul and Duncan Hunter had complained over the exclusion of both men from Sunday night’s debate, the final faceoff before Tuesday’s primary.

so, does anyone want to comment on what exactly it will mean for the debate, the participants, fox, etc., that the NH GOP pulled its support? will anyone even notice a difference? will anything change?

It will leave Fox news completely open to being sued under FCC rules, such as has been suggested previously, and Kucinich just did. Fox can no longer claim the NH GOP is behind it, so they are completely open now.

I posted on this awhile ago. If you want to get maximum coverage over this, some lawyer should file a complaint Monday with press release.

an email I sent to NH GOP

---Thank you for standing up for Dr Ron Paul and Duncan Hunter. It is organizations like yours that remind me that there are those who actually believe in the power of the people to decide who to vote on for President. It is a shame Fox news is not allowing the views of each candidate to be expressed and to allow the voters to decide. After all why is their slogan "You decide" ?? Maybe they should change it to "You decide..but only from the candidates we like"----
