There are 23 counties and half of them pick delegates and the other half picks alternates. One county reported in its results so Romeny has one of the 12 delegates at stake.

So far it looks like one Wyoming county convention that picks full delegates is already finished and voted for Romney - it says 8% of precincts reporting.

So Mitt fans that are lurking here -
you may have actually earned the very first actual delegate for Minneapolis on September 3, 2008.

http://news.aol.com/elections/primary/state/WY/republicansDon't like the AOL one.

First, AOL has been horrible to RP and USA Today more fair, relatively speaking. Second, AOL - per their usual bias -, includes the Huckster's photo (and Rudy & Romney) and title their table as "Wyoming Leaders."

So I'll go with the less graphically nice, but somewhat more fair USA Today chart; and yeah, why ARE the candidates not listed alphabetically?

As I understand Wyoming, a county convention picks a delegate - or some counties pick an alternate -
and one convention (the largest ?) picks both a delegate and an alternate delegate.

Finishing second everywhere might leave you shut out ??

----------------------------------
At least in Iowa we won one county - and alot of precincts in Dubuque County (catholic, with 10 RP delegates)
and several student precincts in Johnson County which we totally ruled over sending all Ron Paul delegates to the county "semi-finals" in March -
unlike Fred and McLame who finished third everywhere in Iowa and got virtually shut out in most every precinct for the Iowa county conventions in March.

psst don't tell CNN / Wolfe - makes him look like an ar%se to laugh at.

Geez, it's an alphabetical order! Romney is first in the "leaders section" because of 1 vote and then it goes alphabetically, because all the rest has 0. No conspiracy here!

What's taking so long?

Some conventions haven't even started yet. I have more than 2 hours before mine starts, but I'm getting ready to go now, just stopped by here quick first.

So Far:

Albany County has chosen Tammy Johnson as their delegate and she is supporting Mitt Romney.

Weston County has chosen an alternate delegate: Donna Bunch, and she is undeclared.

Weston County has chosen an alternate delegate: Donna Bunch, and she is undeclared.

What does it mean when a delegate is undeclared under the wyoming system? The other delegate is voting for Mitt Romney, but this delegate can vote for whoever she chooses up to election day? It doesn't make sense.

Can somone please explain the Wyoming caucus process?

It seems as though it is a winner take all system with each precinct electing one delegate who votes for whoever gained the plurality of the voting. If that is the case, then it is quite likely that Ron Paul could receive zero delegates even though he could be polling relatively high but just not first in any one precinct.

Thoughts?

Is there any trustworthy media coverage in Wyoming that we can followup with. usatoday is with the old msm group. We have been shown what they do for reporting the news and coverage of selected candidates. Is there any information regarding each precinct captain for Ron Paul calling a home location for Ron Paul with the final tallies so we know for sure what the numbers are? It seems that this would be simple for each state to arrange for Ron Paul.

What does it mean when a delegate is undeclared under the wyoming system?

Under any state's system, the delegates to the national convention in September vote for the presidential candidate on the first ballot
according to the state rules - usually decided by the citizens that vote in the primary one way or another.

Everyone is "uncommitted" on the second and any subsequent ballots if no one candidate has the majority needed on the first round.

It sounds like Wyoming can have some delegates that can be uncommitted - at least on paper and depending on who the delegate secretly wants - from the getgo.

Good luck Diana !

I know it's not over but I wonder if you guys think this lack of success is due to a lack of people, lack of knowledge or maybe something else.

It's due to Wyoming's system. Most of the people voting were chosen 2 years ago, hmmmm, who was out voting 2 years ago in the Republican Party? Even if a million Ron Paul supporters went to a convention, only so many people had the power to vote, the rest of us could only watch, and boil in frustration. We weren't able to get enough RP people into voting slots back in December to make a difference.
