Hey People,
Real Time Web-Based Chat via Pibb
RonPaulChat.com (http://www.ronpaulchat.com) is a very simple splash page to coordinate and promote activity using Pibb.com as a web-based chat/forum/email tool for Ron Paul supporters. It contains information on how to set up free chat/forum channels for a variety of purposes.
Why not just use forums?
-I've noticed that many people on forums and in comment sections of MySpace/Youtube have been having conversations in real-time. Pibb is a much better alternative for real-time conversation, as users can subscribe to and watch a 'channel' rather than having to acquire a giant list of contacts in order to coordinate.
Why not just use AIM, or Yahoo Messenger?
-Partly because you have to assemble a large contact list or all agree to a time/place, and also, not all programs are compatible. Plus, Pibb archives and saves all of your chat/forum logs. So everything you've Pibb'ed will permanently be associated with your OpenID for as long as you keep the account.
Feel free to link to RonPaulChat.com and email me and I'll do a link back to your site when I get a chance. This site is currently ad free and I don't expect to put any ads or anything on it for the time being. It's purely to advertise the use of Pibb as a networking and organizational tool.
Please contact me if you have any questions (preferably through Pibb)
EDITED**
Just wanted to point out that Pibb is very browser friendly. You can keep it open and it will alert you when new messages have been posted without you having to refresh or anything. So very useful for somebody who might be at work for instance (wink, wink). Plus, unlike many IRC channels, when you log in you always can look at all the back thread posts for that channel. It really is like a chat crossed with a forum.
EDITED**
Thanks!
