I mean, the mainstream media seems to give it about as much attention as Alaska, but what about local media?

I don't think we should get our hopes up; no poll data doesn't necessarily mean GOOD poll data. Doing well would be a nice surprise, but at least doing poorly there won't make much difference in the media.

There are no polls from WY and I have looked everywhere. The best there is is anecdotal evidence from local GOP chairs suggesting Romney, Thompson and Paul have the most support.
Even google news for Wyoming is really low.

Laramie County (Cheyenne) 10/28/07 Straw Poll showed RP @ 48%. Who knows? Iowa straw poll was pretty accurate.

Wyoming Appreciates Conservatism
In the 2004 presidential election in the stat of Wyoming, George W. Bush won with 69% of the vote, while challenger John Kerry lagged behind with 29%. This gap is virtually impossible to bridge, and both republicans and democrats are well aware of this fact. The democratic primary showed not surprisingly that John Kerry was ahead of the rest of the pack with 77%, while John Edwards only received 5%; in and of itself not a stellar showing for the vice presidential nominee.

While at this point in time there are no reliable polling figures that could be placed on the USA Election Polls website, it is safe to assume that the primaries are not followed with as keen an interest as in the swing states or even those locales where the gap between the republican and the democratic party could be bridged with some modicum of realistic strategy.

Yet in spite of this sure fire win, republicans will lose the goodwill of the Wyoming constituency if they fail to rally in the state and show appreciation for the strong showing of 2004. Looking forward to the 2008 elections, it appears as though Wyoming, which appreciates conservatism, will favor John McCain versus Rudy Giuliani simply because the latter is eyed with some suspicion by those who like their candidates to toe the party line. On the democratic side, Hillary Clinton will undoubtedly be considered the front runner because of her ability to not only mobilize the voters, but also because of the name recognition.
