...and have a simple motivation: that every day's donations beat those of yesterday.

The killer aspect of this idea is the constant PR of a solid month of day-on-day increases. And of course it would be the very best thing for the campaign. And it could even work in tandem with emergency money bombs if necessary.

I'm just thinking it would require a weekly/10-day chart on the official site itself, because there would be no point having a third party site for this.

It took balls for them to show a running quarter total. Why not really go for the balls here? A chart that entices all supporters (together with the new donors which should be increasing daily, if not now then very soon) to switch to small daily amounts.

And it could all be stopped at some distant point in the future when new donors start to drop off as we reach critical mass.

Or this could be for an international audience.

Imagine a site advertising a basket of grassroots efforts....with popular votes deciding how proportion of daily totals go to which efforts.

Interesting idea. Difficult to say if it wouldn't work or not because we never tried it. We thought a blimp was crazy and now it's floating around getting loads of press.

This is kind of like the Pay Day but about a million times more exciting, and with no pledges needed.

It would get the campaign the most money possible.

If anything my follow up idea should be independent of the main idea. (Like a 3rd party webpage that reaches out to the international support and puts their donations towards a basket of grassroots efforts.)

Won't happen. Without money bombs we won't make $5mil this entire quarter. Why won't people understand that. Its not about the people on this board, its about the populace at large and we need singular event to get everyone behind a date.

I'm donating $25 every Friday, and $1 for every percentage point Paul gets in a caucus or primary.

I think both ideas' are excellent.

I tend to think money bombs make people guard their $ and spend less than they would have otherwise.

And with this idea we could have 'priority' days where we try to get 4x the previous day (maybe it could be done every Sunday).

The point is, we need a daily system where every 24 hours beats the last. And it's more than possible.

I consider consistency to be better for the grassroots, and that it would probably grow and sustain their motivation to convert more supporters and at the same time increase the donation total every day, which can bring about great totals, and also we can have a once a month money bomb at the end of the month to celebrate.

The idea of having to donate weekly will turn a lot of people off.

Not many people would donate every single day, so you'd need a lot of new donors to do that.

How about starting we all sign up and donate $2 starting this next week? Spread the word, get mass donations. Then next week it'll be $4. The next week, $7, then $10.

If many people are signed up, we should have no problem convincing people to join up and start donating the weekly goal. We could easily get 5,000 to participate.

After $10, the next week would be $15, $20, $30, $50, $75, and then the last week we'll all donate $100.

Just some numbers-
Week 1
300 participants x $2= $600
Week 2
600 participants x $4= $2400
Week 3
1,000 participants X$7= $7000
Week 4
1,500 participants X$10 $15,000
Week 5
2,250 participants X$15 $33,750
Week 6
3,000 participants X$20 $60,000
Week 7
4,000 participants X$30 $120,000
Week 8
5,000 participants X$50 $250,000
Week 9
5,000 participants X$75 $375,000
Week 10
5,000 participants X$100 $500,000

Grand Total- 1,363,750

Those are some low estimations as far as participants are concerned, IMO. I think if we promoted it we could EASILY get 20,000 to do a weekly bomb like planned out above.

I dunno, if you like the idea lemme know, maybe it could actually become a reality?

Jaykzo, good idea.
