I find myself in a stronghold of what is looking to be Huckabee supporters on the Republican side. I am a precinct captain, but I don't know where to start. I have no family that support Ron Paul, no friends, and the two meetup groups near me are dead or near dead.
I really need some help starting here guys, could anyone get me going?
Jake!

Hi DTS. First, read this thread I wrote about Huckabee: http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?t=75089
You're going to need ammo to fight against a Huckabee nomination. Tell people the truth about Huckabee and then tell them about RP.

Do you have a Meetup Group for your area?
What state/city are you in?
HQs might be able to provide you with a list of Ron Paul supporters in your area.
Here is the Action Plan we developed for Northeast Florida:

Time to peel the onion back on smooth talking Mike Huckabee and see what we’ve really got. In his own words he favors amenity for illegal aliens, big tax and spend government programs, socialized medical programs such as the SCHIP, and wants to take the GOP to the left. He is not a conse4rfvative, he is not a Constitutionalist, and he’s a populist. He constantly quotes opinion polls. He beats to the drum of popular opinion. In addition, the Arkansas' Ethics Commission has admonished Huckabee for violations five times in 14 years

Huckabee shows irreverence to God? It’s all in fun but devout Christians say that it demonstrates his pandering to the religious right.

I'm from Leonard, Texas. My closest meetup groups are in Bonham and Sherman. One of the leaders says he is giving up on Ron Paul, and the other is just about as dead.

By the way, the one in Bonham does monthly meet ups, but as far as I can tell nobody ever shows up to them. The leader shows to not have been online even in quite some time.

Start your own meetup group, promote the heck out of it (online links, drop fliers along with slimjims at coffee shops, diners, the VFW, etc.), and do your own thing.
Don't depend on someone else to lead the way.

I know how you feel. Do you know any other RP supporters? Spouse? Friend? It really helps to have moral support.

Well, my girlfriend will vote for him. I am trying to talk to people at my church, but many of them are Vietnam vets and they felt betrayed by their reception when they came home from there. They are in support of staying in the war and "winning" because they don't want it to happen to them as well.

When I started my political activism many, many years ago as an undergraduate student, I had the great fortune of meeting and working with a brilliant LP activist. I'll share her words of wisdom to me, "Everyone else is inconsistent in their views. Our challenge is to find the issues where we agree with each person, get them understand the principle by which they came to that understanding, and urge them to apply that principle more broadly." Ponder that thought.

Simple: identify your supporters and turn them out to vote.
How: Everyone start making and keeping lists. All of the info you have needs to get noted. Barbie is pro-life, Ken supports Fred Thompson, etc. At the appropriate time, we can send Barbie a targeted pro-life message and, say, for example , if Fred Thompson should drop out, send a message to Ken then why Fred's supporters should take another look at the good doctor.
