I am putting up some polls (and no, not for my benefit) to see what the consensus is on this.

So the question is:

Do you think we should have a grassroots 'Advisory Board' or other methodology to communicate/organize with the Campaign?

Yes I do.

sounds kind of silly and bureaucratic to me but then again I'm way over here in Seattle with little knowledge of how things are playing out in the battlegrounds.

think the headquarters needs assistance from the grassroots...especially video production (Avaroth, Eliberty)....SC worries me even though we are polling well there...

HQ should appoint someone to monitor this board and be available for contact from all members

No... I think that if the grass roots where to take control, there would be infighting for control and it would all colapse. Plus, the grassroots isn't impressing me right now saying "we lost" and "we should have spent more money".

The strategy was good in fact, I wish we would have spent less money in Iowa. Guliani did it right IMO.

No - I'm living and working overseas...I joined the meetup in San Antonio (hometown), but never attending as I've not gotten time stateside...

Ironic. There's a Dan Klaus from my Minnesota Meetup group.

In any case, I agree. ELiberty needs to get involved with HQ.

He's clearly talented and is offering to work for little to nothing.

"HQ should appoint someone to monitor this board and be available for contact from all members"

I agree with this poster...HQ should get the info out to the ground troops ie meetup organizers much faster than they currently are. We just got our county precinct lists. This should have been out several months ago with a new Jan 1st update of new republicans... Same goes for the ronpaul2008 campaign website registration/ volunteer info... I got it just two weeks before registration ended... Many of these folks never visited a meetup group so therefore were out of the loop. The info does the campaign no good if not assimilated to the ground troops that will call will email. Due to limited time I could only Email them the state deadline for becoming a republican info. ///////URGENT//////

This is not a democracy - this is a revolution. We can talk or we can do!

Want to give Dr. Paul $20 Million again?

We do too - Here is the plan in two phases! We need to unite, do not fix what isn't broken, stay with the proven methods of the 4th quarter, and whatever you do, don't make any more moeybomb websites, those of you who are, are killing the method - spammers and video pros needed - get the word out with all guns blazing!

Phase 1: Sign up to donate on January 21, 2008 - http://www.freeatlast2008.com over 3000 people now signed up and growing! - Trevor Lyman and Vijay Boyapati (In memory of Martin Luther King)

Phase 2: Sign up to donate on February 3, 2008 - http://www.libertytax08.com over $15,000.00 in pledges already! - Eric Nordstrom, Republic Magazine, Prison Planet, and an Army of IRS Haters (Make a fist and raise your center finger to the IRS)

The last stand of Ron Paul's Donation Machine (Us) before Super Tuesday! Either way, let's give Ron Paul the push over the top he needs for the general election and go out with the loudest noise possible.

Melissa,

I run 2 meetup groups in MN.

I struggle to get 10% of them to show up.
Some people just don't want to get involved. It's basically they want it done, but don't want to get off their asses to do so.

I run mine too but this stuff of more boards will help no one if we dont have votes why can't anyone see that. We have to hit the steets if no one wants to help them go without them. I dont ususally try to say anything bad about anybodies ideas but I have seen this board come up time and time again and I think that all it will do is give more people reasons to bitch I say go out and door knock. Did we not learn from Iowa --- the only thing we need is votes -- thats it -- and to get votes they have to know about Dr. Paul. But if you guys need a board or whatever else to have a place to bitch about HQ go for it. But if we loose because of lack of votes I sure dont want to hear how it was HQ fault.

I understand your frustration. And trust me, my groups get out and hit the streets. This week has been in the single digits all week too.

I just can't get everyone to go. It's sad actually.

That being said, this board isn't to 'b!tch' about HQ.
It's a group of members that would forward Grassroots concerns to HQ.

I think it's becoming clear that HQ isn't spending the money and while I don't think they need to blow it all early, most grassrooters think they should be more aggressive. The point of the board or committee would be to relay those feelings to HQ.

It's basically a way for us to let them know how we feel about things.
I don't think that's such a bad thing, do you?

Melissa
01-04-2008, 02:34 PM
nope not a bad thing at all but you can always just call them with your concerns instead of all of this energy to tell them what to do. they can spend all the money in the world but if they dont get votes wont really matter

Therein lies the problem. They are notorious for not returning phone calls or emails.

What Ghemminger told me makes perfect sense. There are some legitimate concerns there.

What can the board do? Nobody knows.
But it can't hurt to try, and 20+ Million dollars is plenty of reasons to be curious why there is such a shortage of voters.

I guess if that is where you want to put your energy go for it. I still think u can't win without votes but if you think u are going to get a ton of voters by telling hq what they are doing wrong fine but others of us think it is a silly waste of energy ---i think it will not help to get his name out there will just divert more energy and we are running out of time-but do whatever floats your boat
