The first video on the top right with Tom Clark basically goes as follows:

"Huckabee won, Romney spent a lot and only came in second, McCain did better than he thought, Thompson surprisingly is still in the race, and...and Giuliani did really bad. The end."

Missing anyone?

By the way, Canadians as a whole (I know, I'm one of them) are much more receptive to being paid attention to by the US than the other way around. Canadians are used to living below the radar so a few dozen emails could help keep CTV on its toes.

(CTV is Canada's largest privately owned television network and has a 24-hour news channel. In general they're pretty good.)

Nice, got two replies in quick succession. Here's how it went:

Me:

Hi, this is in response to your coverage here with Tom Clark on the caucuses in Iowa:

http://www.ctv.ca/servlet/ArticleNews/story/CTVNews/20080103/iowa_caucuses_080104/20080104?hub=TopStories

I'm curious why you bothered to mention the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 6th place candidates, with no mention of the 5th place candidate, Ron Paul.

CTV:

Thank you for your letter.

Out story on CTV.ca does mention Paul’s results:

“Arizona Sen. John McCain and former Tennessee Sen. Fred Thompson tied at 13 per cent, with Texas Rep. Ron Paul at 10 per cent. Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani, who ignored Iowa and plans to jumpstart his campaign in Florida's Jan. 29 primary, finished in sixth place.”

Response from me:

Hello, and thank you for your response. I did notice the mention in the article but I was referring to the video with Tom Clark, and was curious why he chose to mention every candidate with a notable percentage except Ron Paul, but chose to include Giuliani who did much worse than Ron Paul.

Next response:

It may have been an oversight. But I will be sure to pass on your note to our TV News Desk, which can be reached at news@ctv.ca

Thanks again for watching,
