Many of us are probably wondering right now as how is it that a great man of principle, character, and integrity, like the esteemed and honorable Dr. Paul, whose platform is one that promises peace, freedom, prosperity and security to all, fails to win the overwhelming support of the people! You would expect that a true stateman like Ron Paul should have won with 90% of the popular vote and not the measly 10%.

After all, who, in his own right mind, would reject a platform that would give him back 100% of the fruits of his labor, respect his privacy, to live free in peace and prosperity, and held innocent till proven guilty!

Was it ignorance, was it apathy, fear and insecurity! Or was it blind bigotry, a raging lust for war and killing fueled by a deep hatred for a real or perceived enemy!

Or is it that man' s nature hasn't changed much over the long centuries: truth and honesty persecuted by falsehood and hypocrisy, righteous men scorned and abused!

Why is it that the world and the lovers of the world have always rejected and despised those who speak the truth, those who care about their fellow human beings, who believe in the golden rule, who loved much and sacrificed much!

Dr. Ron Paul, I believe, is such a man: a sincere and humble man, a brave soul who stood tall and spoke truth to power, whose aspiration is to awaken the sleeping and brainwashed masses, to give them back the fruits of their labors, their liberty and their freedom, and to put a stop to the conspiracy of fraud, theft, and deception.

Two thousand years ago, a man of light and great wisdom gave us an insight into the workings of human nature:

"..Again Jesus said: `There went forth many men to sell figs. But when they arrived at the market-place, behold, men sought not good figs but fair leaves. Therefore the men were not able to sell their figs. And seeing this, an evil citizen said: "Surely I may become rich." Whereupon he called together his two sons and [said]: "Go ye and gather a great quantity of leaves with bad figs." And these they sold for their weight in gold, for the men were mightily pleased with leaves. Whereupon the men, eating the figs, became sick with a grievous sickness.'

...Again Jesus said: 'There went forth two men to sell apples. The one chose to sell the peel of the apple for its weight in gold, caring nought for the substance of the apples. The other desired to give the apples away, receiving only a little bread for his journey. But men bought the peel of the apples for its weight in gold, caring nought for him who was fain to give them, nay even despising him.'

`They that bear good figs are the true teachers who preach good doctrine, but the world, which taketh pleasure in lies, seeketh from the teachers leaves of fine words and flattery. The which seeing, Satan joineth himself with the flesh and the sense, and bringeth a large supply of leaves; that is, a quantity of earthly things, in which he covereth up sin; the which receiving, man becometh sick and ready for eternal death.

`Those two men that sell apples are - the one, he who preacheth for love of God, wherefore he flattereth none, but preacheth in truth, seeking only a poor man's livelihood. As God liveth, in whose presence my soul standeth, such a man is not received by the world, but rather despised. But he who selleth the peel for its weight in gold, and giveth the apple away, he it is who preacheth to please men: and, so flattering the world, he ruineth the soul that followeth his flattery. Ah! How many have perished for this cause!'

Jesus of Nazareth

The two parables above clearly elucidate on how the majority of men ( the sheep)fall for flatterers, deceivers, and hypocrites. Men who are driven by lust, greed, and power, are well received, while truthful men who gave much, not seeking compensation or reward, are scorned and despised. This is a testimony from the Master himself that goes to show that our fight is right and just; and that it is our life, our future and the future of our children, our sacred rights, and those of our fellow citizens, that we are defending and demanding. We should also Know that the lives and the well-being of millions of our fellow men, women, and children, are at stake, and that humanity itself is in peril.

This may be the test of our lifetime. So let's stand up now for truth, peace, and justice, not only for our campatriots but for all men, and let's support the man who believes likewise, and never ever give up, for God is with us.

Here's another nice parable (http://www.newsli.com/2007/12/06/presidential-candidate-ron-paul-bears-an-empty-pot-for-americans/) from Chinese folklore, as it applies to Ron Paul.

Con men have nothing to sell but flattery and false bonhomie. So, they get very, very good at producing these things.

Honest men are generally too busy doing something useful to hone those particular skills.

We can be generous to a fault and not only cast our pearls before swine, but flatter those swine into accepting them, or we can lose to wiser fools. Again.

There's a semi-Christian take on it for you.

My thanks also. Great post. Let him with an ear hear what Barnabas had to say.

3 Defend the cause of the weak and fatherless;
maintain the rights of the poor and oppressed.

4 Rescue the weak and needy;
deliver them from the hand of the wicked.

5 "They know nothing, they understand nothing.
They walk about in darkness;
all the foundations of the earth are shaken.
