I know a lot of people are sad that Paul only got 5th and some people might feel like throwing in the towel, but this is only the start of the campaign.

"Now this is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning."

— Churchill at Lord Mayor's Luncheon, Mansion House following the victory at El Alameinin North Africa, London, 10 November 1942.

My point is that it is natural to feel sad and/or mad about the results. We all hoped he would have done better. But when you actually look at it and read the hundreds of other thread here, you will see that while he could have done better, he could have come out a lot worse. We almost tied McCain and Thompson in a state that wasn't the big focus of the campaign. You might not see it, but we are in a good spot here. We have a long way to go and have lots of room to improve but this is far from being over. Keep your head up and keep pushing Ron Paul's message.

Now, more than ever, we need to set aside our differences and these petty arguments over the results last night and have everyone on the same team and same page working extra hard to spread Ron Paul's message and campaign. Arguing about if 5th place is good or bad does no one any good.

It's understandable to feel how you feel, but imagine how Ron Paul might feel. He got up after the results came in and delivered a great speech and he appeared to be good spirits. I think Ron Paul would feel sadden if he came on these forums and saw all the negativity going on over one state.

Good luck and keep pushing the message of freedom.

If you like that you should check Churchill out more - he spoke beautiful English and made many far more stirring speeches.

People who are upset over Iowa could do with some of Churchill's bulldog spirit. To set the context many of Churchill's most inspiring speeches came when England was on her knees. Hitler and the National-Socialists had torn through Europe, destroying France's military in short time, the low countries, Poland, much of central Europe and Scandinavia - allied with Italy and his fellow socialists in Russia. The USA was not in the war and England had been forced to abandon much of the military equipment in Europe. The situation was in effect hopeless. But Churchill and the English never gave up. It is as simple a lesson as that in many respects. Tenacity frequently triumphs.

Moreover, they drew their inspiration for not giving up from the previous historical times the English had beaten the odds - the Spanish Armada, against Napoleon etc. Here there is a real similarity. It should have been crazy for the USA to beat the British for their independance, but they did it. RP will be the same.

We just had a poll in a Evangelical state dominated by pro-war chickenhawks. The media have been telling people a vote for RP is a waste. But he still got 10% - real voters - not online or whatever their excuse was before. 10%! This is great news. NH should suit RP. And suddenly everyone seems to have forgotten all the money! Is anyone writing off Rudy because he'll not bother with early states? Well Rudy is pro-war and 70% of Americans are anti-war. When RP really starts spending that money the results will show, I'm convinced.

Oh yeah - the best site i know for churchill speeches:
