View Full Version : KABC 790: I was just on, mentioned RON PAUL..

KABC 790am Los Angeles.

I know I sounded like a smuck, but i didn't think i was gonna get on.. so I was surprised..hahhaha.

Anyways, Senator McClintock (ca) was on , and I asked about some immigration things that dems are doing... porking on "shamnesty" pieces to unrelated bills...
(check alipac.us if you are not sure) to get their agendas thru ...

Anyways, I was thinking to myself "How do I get Ron Paul" mentioned because if I would have shouted out "Ron Paul", they would have censored it out..

so I just said "Out of the current crop of candidates who do you support?"

and he says "well, there is a man that if you took the founding fathers and brought them back you would have Ron Paul. He is a true founding father. I like his message and what he stands for. He is one of the few that has integrity, honesty etc......(and was praising him rather nicely)..."

.... and pretty much gave him HUGE KUDOS!!! He said that he thought Ron Pauls problem is that he has a great message he just isn't articulate enough expressing it, but that he likes Ron Paul.. then he said he also likes Fred Thompson, and that fred speaks eloquently .. So I say "well, I have never been political till I heard Ron Paul speak recently and now I am hooked, I am mad for Ron Paul."

He pretty much knocked the other 'ghouls' without naming names as 'establishment'..

--> I just want to say that McClintock was in no way downgrading him.. he was really praising Ron Paul.

so, got his name mentioned on a very popular talk radio show... yipppeee and he was endoresed by Senator Tom McClintok, noted as a man with integrity and honesty, in California.. .. nice.

McClintock is one of the few people in Fronicalia politics whose mind hasn't been hijacked by neoconjobs and other socialistic types.

Unfortunately, the Governator was picked over him in the recall election, a few years back.

Ron Paul is quite articulate given enough time. His problem is he doesn't know how to speak in sound bites.

Odd that a person can support Ron Paul AND a Fred Thompson. Makes me wonder how much he knows about Fred beyond Law and Order

I thought it might be you making fun of how Arnold pronounces California...that guy can make any states name sound like a planet from Star Wars...lol

Yeah, I think Ron is quite articulate, especially when crunched for time. Just watch the citizenstube YouTube interview. ... or think of the 30 seconds they had in the 2nd debate. He articulates fine. It's the media that makes it harder for his message to get out.. not Ron

That's awesome that Ron Paul was even the first thing he mentioned!

We need more of that. :-)

By some definition speaking the truth in a straight forward manner is not politically correct nor or is it articulate. I'll forego the both, and just give me the truth!!

If you don't mind telling us, was McClintock a guest host on a show or just a guest on a show? And which show?

McClintock was my choice during the recall election here in Cali. Very principled guy. Getting an endorsement from him like this is pretty big. We ought to pursue it.

I think we could really hit radios a lot more. Might be a good project for the forums.

Nice work Xar.

Another good place to hit is local television news websites message boards. You can catch the local mainstream viewers and build a buzz that gets Ron Paul mentioned on the local news.

Was that on the Mark Levin show? Or Al Rantel's? (Wasn't Al out today?)

Dang. They don't seem to archive their shows. Any idea how to go about getting the exact quote of McClintock?
(I just requested a copy of the audio track from the station's webmaster.)

It's a VERY big deal to get McClintock to speak praise of Ron Paul. He's hands down the 2nd most influential Republican in the state, and considered the "true conservative" republican in California politics.

In fact I wrote him an email a while back asking him to endorse Ron Paul openly. I mentioned to the Senator that I had voted for him twice when I did it.

Anyway, McClintock is a good person to get on board in this state. The fact he got 45% of the vote for LT. Gov voting the way he does in this state is pretty amazing. That's a testament to how much people respect him.

A guest on the show, and it was KABC 790 as I mentioned... a talk host was filling in for Al Rantell (spelling?). This was about 7:00pm PST.

Give me a day or two to come out with it...

Thanks, Nash!

Dear Mr. Clintock,

Although my support for your campaign during the recall election didn't give you the votes you needed to win, and didn't give this state the leader they needed to succeed, I haven't given up on doing everything I can do get this nation I now call my home back on the path that will eventually reveal its true potential, something that will inevitably pull the rest of the world along into a new era of prosperity, peace, and most importantly, freedom.

I was driving home from work, excited about all the good news I had heard about the campaign of Ron Paul (donation figures showing strong support from military, and also showing a max contribution of $2,300 from Barry Manilow), when I heard your voice on the radio. It's always good to hear you talk, but it was particularly nice to hear you talk about Ron Paul the way you did. Praise like that means a lot when it comes from someone I admire.

We're trying to organize something for September 17, Constitution Day, later this year. It will be a great weekend in honor of the document that best represents the idea of freedom.

We're trying to get a large variety of people-- Republicans, Democrats, Libertarians, Greens, men, women, children; anyone who believes in the principles that our Constitution represents-- to come together in celebration of our founding document.

We're hoping to get Ron Paul as one of the main speakers, and to use the event not only to promote our constitutional values, but to also promote his presidential campaign.

Would you be interested in attending the event, perhaps even as a guest speaker?

Thanks for your time,

Would love to hear your ideas. I think with 100 people sitting on this message board we could listen in on the same station and make a few phone calls. Most stations stream live on the web so it would be easy and recommended to talk about the topic that the DJ is taking calls on and then work Ron's name into the mix if it is related.

I'm just jealous that you got to talk to McClintock.

Well, to be honest, I was taken offguard as I was the FIRST guest caller to speak so I was a little taken aback at first. I don't recall much of the conversation because he talked alot and because I was driving at the time, I wasn't as fully prepared so I think I might have come across as a little uninformed... but it was spur of the moment. To be honest with you, I really didn't know what to say because I just wanted to get on to do two things... 1.) mention something about the illegal immigration bills they are trying to sneak thru and 2.) Ron Paul

I just asked some very base questions like "how do you think we could fight it...." hahahha, obviously not alot of insight on my part.. but he talked well.. then as luck would have it... he also digs ron paul. :-) Actually, I forgot to mention he did mention Mr. Hunter as a person he likes too ( I think they work in the same geographical area)...

I really don't recall any of the convresation now.. I hope he was as flattering to Ron Paul, as I recall.. but now i just don't remember.. :-)

Either way, I'm sending him a thankyou email.

I agree, and personally, his message is too important to be reduced to mere "sound bites". :D

Great work Xar!

I've been going to small and local message boards and mentioning RP. I've started threads like "Are you against the war?", following up with "then candidate Ron Paul is your man!" with related info. Getting hundreds of hits! Also saw a thread on marijuana and again posted RP info. If you see some thread somewhere where you can mention RP, give it a try.
