I have been watching the numbers come in at LBN with the watchdogs posting their numbers. Now, granted only 61.29% of precincts have been tallied in. And that's probably all we'll see... and maybe it was those huge counties and precincts that didn't get reported. But I'm looking at the overall picture here.

The numbers of votes counted with 61% reporting are sigificantly lower than what we were watching on politico last night. This is what Liberty Broadcast Network currently has:

1. Mike Huckabee 6,166
2. Mitt Romney 3,366
3. Fred Thompson 2,013
4. John McCain 1,981
5. Ron Paul 1,757
6. Rudy Giuliani 458
7. Duncan Hunter 59
8. Alan Keyes 22

How can, say, huckabee go from 6,166 votes to 39,814 votes by raising the percentage of reporting precincts by 27%?

Because not every precinct is the same size.

The smaller precincts are finished first, they are counted first, and they're reported first for obvious reasons.

So you can have 50% (or more) precincts reporting, but not have 50% of the votes counted.
