View Full Version : Does anyone actually communicate with HQ regarding advertising and messaging?

I really think this is critical. Here are some problems I see that must be changed:
Our ads suck. We have some talented people making Youtube videos that are only watched by people already sold on RP. This talent needs to be tapped. The guy who made the Ron Paul Rising video needs to be making TV spots. It was professional, positive, and hit on an emotional level (best thing).
Ron Paul is talking too much about free trade. For me, that is the hardest to swallow. I see a United States that has been gutted by the Department of Commerce, and trade deficits. I want American restored - especially manufacturing. That goes to self suffunciency and sovereignty. We are COMPLETELY missing the message on this. For many people, "free trade" means Nike in China - a despicable country that muders prisoners for their organs.
I believe that Americans want their country back. Ron Paul needs to communicate that he will TAKE it back. Repeating trade, travel, being friends, is not cutting it. We want our manufacturing base back, not better trade deals with the Chinese.

eLiberty just got done producing some fantastic ads for the official campaign...
Let's keep our eye on the ball... That's what we can do as individuals.
Quit complaining about the campaign. Pick up a pen and write a letter. Joine a meetup group and canvass... Pick up a phone...

I totally agree...we need to step this up and make it edgy...target the 18-35. We will never make the evangelicals happy, we will never make the war mongers happy. We need to target the base. Need to ramp this up and do ads that have never been seen in political history. Make people take notice of what is going on here on the internet.

I'm in a Meetup group.
You make a wrong assumption if you think Americans don't care about these issues and we don't need to communicate about them. Try watching Lou Dobbs.

theres a better way we can do this
go on photoshop and make your own flyers. Include on these flyers websites or URLs for those inspired videos created by talented RP supporters.
go to kinkos and make about 1,000 copies
go door-to-door knocking and distribute the flyers. Do some talking but dont be too aggressive and let a combination of ronpaul2008.com and the supporter-made videos sell them on RP

I think we have OUR best people doing great work but at the same time they should make themselves more available to the campaign and THEY should STEP UP and realize how talented THEY really are!!!

I have heard these people practically begging the campaign to check out their work. The campaign does not appear to be interested.

I'm not in a position to make the flyers. I'm talking about TV and radio. I would happy to help write some flyers, though.
America is dying. I will give you an example. I have a friend with a ladscaping business. He has a shed full of vintage (50s-70s) garden equipment - trimmers, sprinklers, hand tools, etc. It's ALL made in the USA, ALL heavy duty, made of steel and it ALL still works. NONE of that is made here anymore. ALL of those companies are gone. How many fathers supported their entire families working for those companies? How many kids were put through college because of those jobs? THEY ARE ALL GONE. Talking about more trade doesn't address the America that has been lost. Trading with China has destoryed us. Ron Paul doesn not address this. People want their country, not more money for corporations and cheap shit from Chinese slaves.
Thsi is a VERY important message and I'm not sure that RP or the campaign gets this.

We need to ignore the campaign and start putting up our own ads. Simple as that. Who ever is producing these ads is so far out of touch with what inspires people to join the revolution. Some old political hack is advising the campaign on what ads work and they are wrong. Stop the voice over ads...lame...we need music...power...

Peaopl can't get through to the campaign! I have an RP supporting friend with 20 years in marketing who offered her services, for free, and even fed exed a marketing plan to HQ. They didn't so much as acknowledge it!

The sopporters can make the ads, but the campaign ahs to pay for and run them. That's why we need communication.

Exactly...we need to blow the pants off of people when they see the ads.

I've sent what I can to the campaign. TV ads can cost HUGE bucks. That's what that money is for.

I'll look that link over tomorrow (tired!). Maybe we can get some money from HQ on some of this stuff. Getting through to them is the problem!
