View Full Version : We've just ensured that the pro-war vote will be fractured

Everyone, think about this for a second. Today's result could actually be the best thing that we could have hoped for. Not only did we manage a respectable turnout that put the national frontrunner to shame (Rudy), but by making sure the other neocons placed higher than us, we just ensured that none of them would be dropping out of the race. Remember the earlier rumors about Thompson dropping out if he did poorly? Well now there is no chance of that happening in the near future, which means that the pro-war neocon vote is only going to be split up going into the next few primaries. If we had done incredibly well and embarrassed Thompson and McCain tonight, we might have faced the risk that they would drop out and support some other candidate, consolidating the pro-war vote and making the next few primaries very difficult. But now that this isn't happening, we should have an easier time doing well in these primaries.

The fact that we got 10% in Iowa is mind-boggling in itself. It only demonstrates that our support is for real and that we have the numbers to compete. I can only imagine how we will do in a state whose demographics are more in line with our candidates views. That said, I expect that we will do great in New Hampshire, but we will probably also have very respectable showings in other places like Wyoming because the pro-war voters are going to be fractured in five ways. All we need to do is make sure that we stay viable as we continue to build momentum heading into Super Tuesday. Slow and steady is going to win this race, and we are off to a damn fine start.

Keep the flames of liberty glowing and don't lose hope!

This is an excellent analysis, unfortunately the reality is that the Republican Party is still radically pro-Iraq War and essentially pro-war mongering in general, so we can only prevail by dividing the party against itself and bringing new people in simultaneously.

Keep placing well in primaries but KEEP GETTING DELEGATE SPOTS! That really IS the key. People talk about how winning the popular vote doesnt mean winning the Presidency...but I guess that can work for Ron Paul too! Let Huck win the popular vote but have 90% RP supporters for the nomination :)

If Ron Paul gains lots of new support over the coming months, however, that radical war support will change in the Republican party. Remember: The PEOPLE are STILL where the changes begin and end. The Republican Party would be FORCED to adopt different ideologies if Ron Paul gains enough attention, because that would mean a significant number of registered Republicans would be supporting the traditional Republican philosophy, and not the horrible, new, war-mongering philosophy.

And that's exactly what we've been doing :)
