At the beginning of WWII, Pacific submarine patrols were markedly unsucessful in that they didn't sink a lot of Japanese ships. However, they were very successful, by the standards to which the sub commanders had beent trained, in that they returned to port with the submarines and the crews intact.

The organization, over its peacetime training, had emphasized this and the commanders who had risen to the top were quite good at this. But going into a shooting war, it became quickly apparent that peacetime doctrine had created a generation of commanders whose reflexes conditioned by the preceding conditons of peace were no longer appropriate for the new reality.

The U.S. Navy adapted by relieving most of the sub commanders and promoting new commanders with a charge to sink ships even if they had to risk their own ship.

As a movement, we are at a similar crossroads. We've been quite successful at generating buzz, raising funds, etc, in a pre-election environment. But now, in a voting environment, we've underperformed. So now we need to rethink about how our actions WIN ELECTIONS.

We need to WIN ELECTIONS now, not only create attention, which is what we've been good at. These are related, but somewhate divergent activities, and we need to be pragmatic about getting votes into the box. 4th was going to be ok, but 5th is a wake up call that we need to get Joe voter to sign on Ron Paul on his ballot. By hook or crook.

There are many ways to accomplish this, and they vary from state to state, demographic to demographic. But it all hinges upon mainstreaming the message, building a movement within the Republican party, and showing how our platform benefits the average joe.

Those that are faint of heart and easily disillusioned, well, goodbye. Those that are committed to the fight, figure out how to get REPUBLICAN VOTERS to vote for Ron Paul. That is our mission in the coming weeks.

Maybe we should start to divide into camps that have knowledge about a subject -

and let those who know something about a particular area pursue the vote in the area they know something about -

.

- to avoid damaging the effort by those who don't know anything about the subject-

and who try to get involved in something they know little or nothing about -

and end up doing more damage than good.

.
You know - kind of have groups that specialize in certain things..

taxes, foreign policy, religion, health care ect

just a thought, I don't know if it could realistically be done..
