Go Jefferson County.. giving Iowans a good name.

This also has another side effect...

Mouseover any other county and you are given only the GOP county winners percent, so only Huckabee, Romney and Paul are shown...no one else matters =)

funny how at the official Iowa GOP website (http://www.iowagop.net) the win by Dr Paul in Jefferson County is shown as "NO VOTES REPORTED". Nice.

Not to be down on my county, but we are very excentric here. We are home to the Maharishi University of Management and have the fastest broadband in the entire country... I'm on 100Mb/s right now.

Our mayor is a rich oil barron from New York and Kucinich also has a huge base of support here.

It's funny that tancredo got more votes than Kucinich, Dodd, and Gravel put together and Tancredo's out.

There's still a lot of stupid people here. Just a lot of rich excentric people come here for the meditation movement.

I live in Nebraska. How did Ron Paul do so well and win one county and loose all the rest?

I am sorry, but that makes no sense to me.

I love RP and I love my town, but Jefferson county is the EXCEPTION for iowa. Read up on the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. He traveled with the Beatles and set up a university here in Fairfield. I think a lot of the people in that movement are a tad loony, but they're all very intelectual.

I'm not aware of the story, there. What is it that makes Jefferson County such a Paul stronghold that he even edges out Huckabee? (Whoohoo! :D)

It has to say something about the demographics, organization, strategy or tactics that are good for the message...

Libertyville, Jefferson County? It's where I might move if not some dark corner of New Zealand if one of the neocons win.

Dude!

It's really impressive that he got over 1/3 of the votes in the entire county, even if there are a lot of hippies. We're going to own California.
