I predicted two months ago that the sheep in the GOP would NEVER elect Ron, and I took a lot of heat here. What I said is that we need to focus on an anti-war, pro-freedom third party run.

I spent years as a top-level speechwriter and operative in the GOP, and I know damn well that the party is too far gone.

We need to compete in NH, then keep our cash in reserve and get ready for a third-party run.

I have said all along that third party is the only way we can win this. The GOP has given us evidence that they are nothing but sheep who will vote for an evangelical snake oil salesman.

Please understand that the GOP is lost. They think INCREASING foreign intervention is the cure to the fact that intervention has caused all these "terrorism" problems in the first place.

New Hampshire will be the real test. It's a modern state with a more diverse populace and many more voters. Independents are allowed to vote...and 75% of them are against the Iraq war. We stand a VERY good chance of winning there...and the media storm that follows will be unprecedented.

We need to gear up for a third party run as soon as we can. That means getting Ron on the ballots in all these states. We should stop right after NH, save our treasure, and start doing what needs to be done to get Ron on the ballot third party. It's going to take a lot of work!

I think RP thought he would fare no better as a 3rd party candidate than he did the last time. But I think the climate is far different now. Still, do you think he could pull that many away from both Republicans and Democrats to win? Figure 10% of Republicans. Let's do the math.
Assume Republicans get 42% running against Obama. With Paul in the race, Republicans only get 37.8% and Ron Paul gets 4.2% of their votes. Ron Paul would then have to pick up over 1/2 of Obama's votes to win. 25% of Obama's 58% leaves it at 37.8 Rep, 18.7 RP, 43.5 Obama. If he were to get more of Obama's vote, he could put the Republican, possibly Huck, in the Whitehouse. Don't be surprised to see the powers that be all of a sudden endorsing RP if he runs 3rd party - we will then clearly know what media partners are owned by the defense industry.
