View Full Version : So there we were, standing on a corner...

And what a great time we had!!!
Busy corner, rush hour, hawaiian time, 2x3 signs, tri-folds, flyers, stickers, enthusiasm...
Easy...
No need push nothing, people want to know...
Our home brew flyers top half had "WHO IS RON PAUL?" with his picture, then a headline that says,
It's not about right or left
It's about right or wrong
followed by the standard brief overview, with local nets in small print...
(They were effective, thanks Cindy:D)
Dr. Paul's support and curiosity factor suprised me.
We set up on a corner that a local knew as one of "the" places for this sort of thing. The horns started honking before we could get there... And some of the most enthusiastic drivers, looked like they were just getting off the golf course or out of their corner office, hhhmmmmm...
We had people stopped in traffic rolling down windows _asking_ us for lit. All's we had to do was stand there holding our signs with the natural smile that comes from doing something so cool...
The "Who is Ron Paul?" thing is powerful (Ayn;) ). I just boosted my 2x3 to traffic and held the flyer up to anyone who could read it; if they looked in my eye I would ask them if they'd heard of Ron Paul yet? Most said no, I simply held up lit, and most took it with a smile...
"Have ya heard of Ron Paul yet?, Here take a look, you'll be suprised" and a thousand variations.
It feels good, do it
:D

Yeah I agree, the right or wrong bit is solid. I'm going to steal it for Common Sense 2.0.

So simple "works" could do it...
We had red and blue paper, black ink, 4 per 8.5x11. I stiffened it in the wind with a tri-fold, (so traffic could read Who is...), turned out to be a great pkg...
I'll see if I can get the original file posted, easy enough to whip up your own version though...
Have Fun Everyone, It'd be an honor to make Common Sense :D

Oh, go ahead, adopt an Iowan...

I have done my best to duplicate the effort with some minor additions/tweaks. If anybody wants a MSWord .doc copy of the result; just PM me your email address and I will send it over.

$10 from 230 is quite a bit more valuable than $2300 from one

Aloha, this is Cindy. I had the flyers run off but I cannot take credit for their content ( even though I would like to). I grapped them off of another groups files when I was browsing. Hope that is not shop lifting:):) I don't even remember which group is was. sorry or I would give them credit here. It is great because you get two for the price of one. Landscape style two on each page. Pick your favorite color and go for it. Red did not show up as good as the light blue. Working together in unity for Our RON PAUL.

Easy...

This is very effective. You got name recognition, you didn't need to try too hard and you were having fun ( having fun is one of the key elements - it's highly contagious ).
"Happiness is when what you think, what you say, and what you do are in harmony." (http://www.quotationsbook.com/quote/18344/)

. . . people want a truthful politician so bad it hurts right now. I live in a ski town and "pushy" just does not work here. I will emulate your excellent work! I'm picturing a more photo / color type poster yet with very similar text. I am curious if this picture could be workable in a simple but colorful poster:

If I was gonna try that I would separate the people in the photo from the bkgnd, then I would "paint" the background into uniform blocks where text could be inserted.
jus a thought...
