Wow...Kudlow was discussing the choices in the election with his guest, and Don Luskin (the "Bravissimo!" guy)...says something like "Every time I talk about politics on this show I mention Ron Paul, but I'm telling you, he's could run third party and take 20% of the popular vote...People don't want someone like Huckabee or Edwards.."

Larry interrupted with a question, and when they went back to Don, the picture was gone and there was just a loud "beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep!"

Amazing how they "lost" his signal right after he brought up RP..

I hope someone Youtubed it..

Interesting... I honestly think he would have a shot if he could get on the ballots as a 3rd-party.

However, let's worry about tomorrow and next week first.

I think Ron Paul thinks that if he can't win the Republican nomination, what makes him(or us) think he can win as a third party?

To be honest, we don't need to win. We would only need to make a dent. Once it starts, it won't stop, and if we can get into the debates with Ron Paul against Hillary (or even Obama) and Huckleberry (or Romney), we could actually come away with the election. There's enough people on both sides that hate one or the other of their candidates that they would vote for someone like Paul (ex. Obama supporters are against Hillary but generally don't clash with Paul supporters as much as Giuliani or Romney supporters).

That would be the beginning, though. It would carry over to the next elections in 2010 and 2012.

He brought it up in the context that if RP takes 20%+ of the popular vote, he would deny a mandate to whoever wins the election. No matter who wins, they couldn't implement a full on big government liberal or big government conservative agenda, because most of the country would be against them (RP supporters + the other party's supporters). It would hopefully lead to more moderation on the part of the winner...because they will need the support of the Ron Paul voting bloc if they want to be re-elected..

What will happen if Ron Paul is president, but Congress is filled with red and blue socialists? Not much.

This revolution isn't over in November. I believe people should look at this as a long term process, not a one time election. The Ron Paul supporters need to get organized into a political organization that can take our country back. Maybe not now, but in another 4 or 8 years.

If Ron doesn't get the Republican nomination, I hope he does run as a third party candidate, and that he gets another 400+ congressional Ron Paul candidates to run with him.
