Be aware of Marc Emery and his associates...

"First of all, we are not losing customers at all. We have never had so much interest in the seeds we sell. Any problems experienced can be dealt with if the complainants stay polite, but once they become abusive or begin posting heated, crazed rhetoric, then we terminate any interest in dealing with that person.

I find this abusive behaviour unfathomable considering we have their address and pertinent details of what they are doing but somehow feel they can abuse us and provoke us. I wouldn't be doing that to anyone I had sent written proof to that I was growing marijuana/requesting marijuana seeds.

Fortunately, we have never had to resort to dealing severly with miscreants who don't understand their self-incrimination" - Marc Emery

So I was at the Smoke Shop a few months ago and bought Cannibas Culture. The issue says it was August-September 2007 (I think I bought it in October)....You can barely notice it but on the front cover by the bar code and pricing reads "www.ronpaul2008.com"

When I bought it I loved Ron Paul but had no idea he was going to be mentioned in an issue of it. But to my great surprise page 6 was a picture of the editor Marc Scott Emery wearing a "Ron Paul R3volution" shirt and mentions

Hey America-do you want a president in 2008 who would end the drug war immediately? Then you absolutely must register to vote and support Congressman RON PAUL for President! This anti-Iraq war, anti-drug war Texas Congressman is the Champion of the Constitution who reveres the Bill of Rights, and has spent his entire life defending and advocating liberty and freedom. .....he is the only Congressperson who consistantly votes for liberty, freedom, and the Bill of Rights, and against expanding the government and drug war- everytime! Ron Paul has voted at every single opportunity in Congress to oppose the war on drugs, the war in Iraq, the Patriot Act, NSA wiretapping, and every unconstituional fascist scheme the Bush White House has engineered. He favors a non-interventionist foreign policy, and an end to income tax and the IRS. Ron Paul believes the government has to be kept small and out of citizens' private affairs- and he has always voted in Congress that way! Ron Paul is an intelligent, educated, an unwavering, incredible principled man without a corrupt bone in his body who votes strictly according to what the Constitution says Congres is allowed to do, and never wastefully spends a dime of taxpayer money. Once Considered a longshiot, Ron Paul has surged into third place in Republican fundraising and has been winning official straw polls at state conventions this election is truly going to be determined by the American people with the power of grassroots organizations and the Internet. Jodie and I are doing all we can to support Ron Paul because not only would he end the drug war as President, but he's likely appoint an Attorney General who would rescind the US indictment against BC3-and to restore constitutionally-limited US government- is to support Ron Paul in his bid for the Presidency. No One explains Ron Paul better than the main himself, so check out www.ronpaul2008.com or Google his name and you can watch, read, and listen to his powerful messages of hope for America

Then I lit a big bowl for LIBERTY, PEACE, and PROSPERITY!.....and passed it on to my friend who I converted to a Ron Paul fan. ("Dude you gotta check out these YouTube videos of this guy named Ron Paul"

I hate to tell you this, Wildflower, but potheads are probably Ron Paul's #1 demographic right now, you'll notice that today on Wolf Blitzer's Situation Room when asked what he would do domestically on his first day as President, the first thing Dr. Paul said was " stop the Justice Dept. from persecuting people using marijuana for medical reasons..."

I didn't make the guy's platform, I just agree with it and am promoting it.

Methinks Wildflower knows little about being wild or flowers, and is caught up in some anal-retentive reflex. 30 million Americans smoke pot, 1.8 million people in the US are arrested for drugs each year. So Wildflower, what is you hate more? cannabis, liberty, or the truth, because your showing contempt for all 3.

Why don't you answer my question about alcohol? Are you going to condemn alcohol use and call everyone who drinks losers or pathetic? Alcohol is ten times more destructive to human life than weed.

Hundreds of thousands of people die every year in the US from alcohol and cigarettes. None die from weed.

The magazine obliviously promotes recreational use. I was simply stating that I doubt Ron Paul's personal opinion would be that such a reason for using marijuana is justified, and this is 'Ron Paul' Forums. But of course he would not force his beliefs on you unconstitutionally with federal laws. Which is good. People who want to smoke it should be able to do so and I should have every right to attack them for doing so.

No flaming from me :) but I don't think you realize how many closet smokers are out there. We're sick of feeling disenfranchised and paranoid while enjoying our hobby and will certainly speak with our votes. It's less harmful than alcohol and we're sick of the lies about it.

I think the recent ad in High Times was also a great thing to win supporters.

The "pothead" label is going to be thrown around regardless because he has been pro-legalization, anti-drug war forever. This whole revolution is going to make those stereotyped, propaganda-influenced labels obsolete anyway.

Here we go again -- we have been through all this before -- Dr. Paul is against the Federal Government interfering with regulations of drugs -- he wants to leave that up to the states.

He is quoted on television saying he has never even SEEN someone smoke pot,

" you know I defend these people and their right to medicate this way but I've never even seen marijuana, to tell you the truth..."

Dr. Paul is so amazing and awesome.

Thank you for that sir.

Don't misrepresent my position. You completely missed the point. I never said anything about drug legalization, and the point wasn't about pot. I am most definitely FOR freedom and truth.

I merely said that we have to be aware of handing ammunition to the opposition, and helping to confirm THEIR portrayal of us as a bunch of druggies.

I wasn't expecting you to basically agree with them that his main demographic is potheads.

Oh gawd, I hope this isn't actually in the works. No offense to the pot people here, but this is not the kind of publicity he needs.

We ALREADY have the haters calling us all 'potheads' and making jokes about bongs and trying to portray us as a bunch of teenage idiots.

We DON'T need to perpetuate a false stereotype they want to put on us, by something like this. :(

(just my 2 cents... i'll put on my flame-proof suit now for the attacks coming) ;)

Think about who's doing that? Who's calling us those names? It doesn't matter what they think. If it's not this, it's brothels. It's all the same.

What they don't understand, and either do you, there are more people who partake this Cannabis than you think.

Looking at Ron Paul, I doubt he would smoke pot if it were not for medical reasons. It's a judgment based on the facts. Just like predicting where he will finish in Iowa.

I don't hate pot smokers. My best friends who I trust with my life are heavy users. I still think they are pathetic and I tell them that. There are better things you could be doing than getting high. Like reading a book.

That's your opinion. People should be able to choose to do whatever they like. Of course without hurting others. If they think smoking is a better thing to do than reading, then that's liberty for ya. Everybody does something in their lifetime that others wouldn't approve of. Including you.

This is a result of the fact that alcohol consumption is more prevalent.

Oh? So what percentage of deaths should we expect if this were legal? 0 x 10% = 0?

No flaming from me :) but I don't think you realize how many closet smokers are out there. We're sick of feeling disenfranchised and paranoid while enjoying our hobby and will certainly speak with our votes. It's less harmful than alcohol and we're sick of the lies about it.

I think the recent ad in High Times was also a great thing to win supporters.

The "pothead" label is going to be thrown around regardless because he has been pro-legalization, anti-drug war forever. This whole revolution is going to make those stereotyped, propaganda-influenced labels obsolete anyway.

Thanks for being civil. And you made some good points. To be honest, I've had so many other things on my mind lately, that I haven't thought much about the amount of closet smokers out there who have been waiting for someone like Dr. Paul to come along. (as someone who has no interest in drugs, that wasn't what I focused on... but like Paul, I definitely stand for freedom and the constitution)

Like I said in my last post, I was just more concerned with the publicity and how it will affect mainstream people who aren't part of the cannibas crowd.

but anyway, maybe I should've just kept my concerns to myself.

Lots of people drive alertly, conservatively, defensively and unhurried in our vehicles as a consequence of being high.

I have never had an accident in 32 years of driving and I smoke cannabis while driving as I would with any machinery I felt competent and confident with. Cannabis does not impair, it enhances or adds to. A responsible individual can make fantastic use of cannabis and be gold medal snowboarders, NBA basketball superstars or NFL Quarterbacks, Olympic wrestlers and powerlifters, and can be an excellent defensive driver in a vehicle.

As to legislation, the test is never whats in the body, the proof of competence is performance. If the driver cannot pass a series of hand-eye and motor-cordination skills, or whose actual driving is erratic, then he can be said to be impaired. The constitutional violation involved in arresting and jailing individuals over the contents of their bloodstream, urine and hair follicles is so extraordinary, the founding fathers would be pissing their alcohol soaked urine in their graves today if they somehow knew of the perfidy visited on the sovereign rights of individuals since their days...

Issue #68's Pot Puzzlers (the crossword and word search in every issue) include "Ron Paul Revolution" as the answer for the following sentence to be completed:

"Americans can save their country, end prohibition, and help the BC3 in their fight against extradition to the USA by joining the __ ___ _____!"

When readers submit the answers, they often add comments about how Ron Paul signs are all over their town, or they write "Ron Paul 2008!", or note they're going to vote for Ron Paul, etc. It's so gratifying to see supporters among our fans! :)

So, I wanted to share the opening side of the centerfold in Cannabis Culture #69. It's for our readers -- many who are fans -- to post and use anywhere! They've been reading about Ron Paul for some time now in Cannabis Culture Magazine.

Hey everyone!

I'll repost a review of what Cannabis Culture Magazine has done for Ron Paul in the last year and more. :)

Our magazine, Cannabis Culture, prints approximately 66,000 copies with a mostly-American audience. Our website is also frequented by US citizens -- www.CannabisCulture.com -- as are our MySpace and Facebook accounts, with thousands of fans and friends.

Cannabis Culture Magazine has been promoting Ron Paul since 2006 when the publisher and editor Marc Emery (my husband) analyzed every voting record of all US Representatives for issue #62's "Voter's Guide" and RON PAUL came out on top. Marc Emery has been a fan and follower of Ron Paul since the 1980s, and since 2006 we've featured Ron Paul promotions regularly.

The next issue of our magazine, #69 (out in mid-January) has me on the cover looking quite lovely (I'm already the "Ron Paul - Liberty Turns Me On" girl you may have seen online, the brunette in the white bikini) with a 2x5-inch RON PAUL promotion in the bottom left corner of the cover including Ron Paul's face, name, website, and 6 reasons for our audience to vote for Ron Paul.

http://www.cannabisculture.com/library/images/uploads/4878-JodieEmeryRonPaul01.jpg

We also have a centerfold in the same issue saying "RON PAUL - President 2008 - Champion of the Constitution" with 3 web addresses: RonPaul2008.com, DailyPaul.com, and RonPaulRadio.com. The poster can be used anywhere, and doesn't have pot leafs on it. Great for everyone to use.

In issue #62 we had the voter guide. Ron Paul got heavy promotion for being the best Representative for freedom, liberty, peace, and ending the War on Drugs (which was a prelude to the War on Terror). That in-depth analysis, which Marc spent months creating, is available at our website:
http://www.cannabisculture.com/articles/4806.html

Issue #65 was out all-activist issue and featured the article "For the Presidency of the United States", which offered insight into Ron Paul and Dennis Kucinich (to have both a Republican and Democrat endorsed). You can find that article on our website too:
http://cannabisculture.com/articles/4910.html

Issue #67's Letter From the Editor (by Marc) endorsed Ron Paul heavily, and the photo was Marc in his popular Ron Paul Revolution shirt holding his "Prince of Pot" bong. That issue's cover also had www.RonPaul2008.com as the little "quote" next to the bar code, which we always switch up.

Issue #68, our currently-on-stands issue, has an article called "Your Next President On Drugs" and looks at every candidate's stance on the drug war, medical marijuana, hemp, etc. -- and of course, Ron Paul is the star of the show. That article can be seen at our website too, along with collected YouTube videos of every candidate commenting on drugs/marijuana.
http://www.cannabisculture.com/articles/5101.html

Hundreds of people have registered Republican, joined Ron Paul's campaign, donated money to him, turn into Ron Paulites like us, and done even more because of our efforts. They write to Marc and I daily, letting us know that they found out about Ron Paul through us, online or in CC magazine, or at www.Pot.tv or in person, or at our very popular store (Marc Emery's Cannabis Culture Headquarters) in downtown Vancouver... or even through our Vancouver Meet-Up group!

Marc and I also have a radio show on RonPaulRadio.com and currently we have an offer circulating for people who donate to Ron Paul -- they can get free personalized autographed centerfolds and posters of me and/or Marc (1: my famous CC centerfold, or 2: my "Liberty Turns Me On" Ron Paul promotion; or 3: Marc's Revolution-shirt picture) ... just email Jodie@cannabisculture.com with the confirmation email, your name and mailing address.

http://www.cannabisculture.com/library/images/uploads/4878-MarcSupportsRonPaul.jpg

For other Ron Paul & Marc Emery info, read the Seattle Weekly News article from a while ago... it's promotion, one way or another. It must be helping, because a lot of Republicans have been joining to support Ron Paul in Washington state, according to a recent story from there.
http://cannabisculture.com/articles/5045.html

Also, the recent Ron Paul article in Rolling Stone magazine was written by Tim Dickenson, who wrote about Marc Emery years ago. Marc contacted Dickenson after a previous article had said "all GOP candidates are for the Iraq war", encouraging Dickenson to take a closer look at Ron Paul. Dickenson later produced that excellent article; and though I imagine many others let him know that Ron Paul exists, Marc has a personal relationship with that journalist -- as Marc has been a media magnet since he was 17 -- and it seems to have had some good impact.

Here's what Marc wrote as a response to an earlier thread in these forums: "There's no Canadian who has done more for Ron Paul than myself and my wife, Jodie, in this campaign. I even put out myself tonight over 100 lawn signs, bridge sprawling banners, and pole signs in the pouring rain tonight all over Vancouver tonight with 8 members of the Vancouver meet-up group.
Contributions so far:
4,000 3x5" cards color
2,000 buttons
12 massive 3' x 8' banners color
a giant portable Ron Paul Pavilion
South Carolina Marathon of Hope (September)
two editorials
4 videos
one magazine cover
one magazine centerfold (value: $3450 US)
autographed posters of Jodie/me for over 100 Ron Paul donors
Ron Paul Radio shows"

So, expect much more to come from CC, Marc and me! :)

This is a list of people who smoked cannabis and who have also gone on to do meaningful things:

I understand that this list may not be 100% accurate, but I don't think you can say no one on that list did anything meaningful as a result of getting stoned. A responsible individual can make fantastic use of cannabis and be gold medal snowboarders, NBA basketball superstars or NFL Quarterbacks, Olympic wrestlers and powerlifters, and can be an excellent defensive driver in a vehicle.

People's opinions about what happens to them from cannabis use are the product of 75 years of propaganda. If you believe you are impaired - you will tend to act impaired.

D.U.I. Inc. is big busine$$ and is in blatant violation of the Constitution. What's the difference between arresting you for the chemical composition of your bloodstream and "pre-crime"? Do you see where this could lead . . . ?

Another area of "law" which blatantly violates the Constitution?

Family law is an entire "separate-but-unequal" court system... set up specifically to circumvent the Constitution. "No-fault" divorce is unconstitutional. "Child support" is unconstitutional. They all know it. Judges, lawyers, other public servants all of whom are knowingly violating their oaths to "uphold and defend the Constitution".

ALL of these areas of disregard for the Constitution require our immediate attention. These are an integral part of the rloveution. Thanks for your outstanding work for Ron Paul, Marc!

It was my belief that the constitution dealt with federal government. DUI is a state issue if i'm not mistaken. The constitution has no authority over the states.

"Child support" is unconstitutional.

Interesting point. Is this a federal issue? I think both a mother and father should be equally responsible for a child which they have produced. For example if a married couple separated and had a baby that was still breast-feeding, I think the father should pay half the costs. The mother should not suffer because she is biologically tied to the survival of the baby. Maybe i'm wrong or maybe this is one issue where I stray from pure libertarianism but I don't think liberty equates with leaving the mother to fend for herself because she is biologically forced to do so for the survival of the child.

It was my belief that the constitution dealt with federal government. DUI is a state issue if i'm not mistaken. The constitution has no authority over the states. The arrest of people whose "crime" is the contents of their bloodstream is in clear violation of the Constitution. This opens up a nightmare police state of George Orwell's "1984" - what else in your blood stream might be made "illegal" in the future? Perhaps you don't have the right "genes" for Karl Rove's vision of a "better Amerika"?

As to your statement regarding parental responsibility - yes of course parents should share the costs of children. BUT - and this a huuuuuuuge but - creating an enforcement Gestapo for that purpose - with extraordinary powers of seizure and "debtors prison" ... is another example of using a "good intention" to rob a segment of the people of their Constitutional rights ... and move inexorably towards a police state.

AND - 85% of the time the mother CHOOSES to force divorce. This is the scourge called "no-fault" divorce. This is harmful to the children. That is 100% established fact - divorce is harmful to the children, yet these selfish (mostly) mothers are REWARDED by the state with the financial incentive program fraudulently called "child support". Follow the money and learn about the details of this scam. Don't fall for the "sound bites".

The massive increases in divorce are one of the ways the entire population is being oppressed. By creating a huge incentive / encouragement matrix - the destruction of families has been facilitated. We all suffer from increased crime, drug abuse, and many other of societies ills all linked conclusively to fatherlessness. The myth that these fathers are "abandoning" their children needs to be stopped.

I completely get your point and I agree, but DUI is a state issue. The constitution outlines specific topics for which the federal government has a mandate to create law. DUI is not one of them.

As for the child support thing, it certainly is a complicated issue. I wouldn't pretend to have a rigid opinion on something I have not studied. So maybe you are correct or maybe not.

D.U.I. Inc. is big busine$$ and is in blatant violation of the Constitution. What's the difference between arresting you for the chemical composition of your bloodstream and "pre-crime"? Do you see where this could lead . . . ?

No, I really don't see where it could lead and I don't think you do either. You seem to be wanting to argue that drunks may at some indeterminate point in the oh-so-scary future be arrested for, say, coming within 100m of an automobile for chance that they might drive it somewhere. That's ridiculous, but at the same time, I wouldn't fault a city for not allowing large parking lots to be zoned within a certain (prohibitively long) distance of bars. Would you call that being punished for pre-crime? I call it not such a bad idea.

If you cause another individual harm as a result of having consumed something that caused you to lose control, be it drugs or alcohol or whatever, you're not just an asshole -- you're a grossly negligent asshole, and your punishment should be stepped up accordingly. To that end, testing the "chemical composition of your bloodstream" is a reasonable practice.

Have you, or do you know anybody who has ever lost a loved one to a drunk driver?

I firmly believe that DUI penalties aren't stiff enough. Your life should be miserable for a very long time if you're convicted of DUI.

Interesting point. Is this a federal issue? I think both a mother and father should be equally responsible for a child which they have produced.

It is and should be a state issue.

Quick rant...

Child support is a real bugbear for a number of reasons. For one, there's no standard in place that requires the recipient of the child support show that it was actually spent on the child. In a truly perfect world, any extra money would be returned...or at the very least, placed in trust for the child.

For two, the notion that the child support award should be pegged to the income level of the paying party is totally absurd. We all know kids are expensive, but often times child support awards are just ridiculous. The argument for maintaining a certain standard of living that the child has grown accustomed to (or whatever it is) is totally abusive. This should be a voluntary thing.

For something to be meaningful it has to exist in the real world. Cannabis produces distorted perceptions of time, space and distance. I doubt anything meaningful has ever been created as a result of someone getting stoned. :)

I tend to agree with you, but for what it's worth, Steve Jobs has said that doing LSD was one of the most important experiences of his life...and he seems to be doing quite well for himself.

The magazine also contains an article about Rob Van Dam and "weed and wrestling"- since 2 WWE wrestlers have already endorsed Ron Paul, I wonder if RVD will as well.

It was my belief that the constitution dealt with federal government. DUI is a state issue if i'm not mistaken. The constitution has no authority over the states.

Problem is, each State has its own Constitution, which all have pretty much the same Bill of Rights attached to them.

Either way you look at it, it is unconstitutional.

Important in what way? Maybe he realized you don't need to poison your body to be creative. Maybe he realized that any ideas that you magically come up with after getting high were probably in your brain to begin with. Putting a single, very simple chemical compound in your very complex brain tissue cannot do magic things. It just changes neurotransmitter levels and firing thresholds. People perceive the effects as some sort of magical creative explosion when it's just a series of chemical reactions. Creativity is something that is learned over a long period. Neural connections form in complex ways over your lifetime. Creativity cannot be explained by a small chemical compound. My friends are not arty or creative people in the slightest and they smoke marijuana regularly and it does not help them become more creative.

Sorry for the rant. Did I make my point :D ?

It is and should be a state issue.

This is a great example of how a powerful issue - the senseless loss of a loved one to a careless drunk driver - is turned into an excuse for "roadside checkpoints" with breathalizers, blood tests, ( what's next - roadside proctology exams? ).... and more and more police state measures which DON'T make you safer but DO make you more a "slave of the state".

The truth about "alcohol-related fatalities" (http://www.iwasthestate.com/2007/11/truth-about-alcohol-related-fatalities.html)

If you want the Government to "make your life 100% safe" you are seeking an illusion and you will get only enslavement. Be careful what you wish for...

If you want to honestly analyze this issue - think about this: There are existing laws which require bartenders to stop serving drunks. Where is the enforcement of THOSE laws? Why aren't we focused on THESE lawbreakers? Once again - simply follow the money for your easy answer. There exists an "unspoken cartel" between the bars making the money on the "front end" of this scam.... and the court system and "related services" making big money on the "back end"...

It's not about making you safe - it's about making money while robbing you of your rights.

The state has absolutely no right to determine how much money I spend raising my children. More fundamentally, the state cannot deny any parent so-called "custody" without first showing cause. The Supreme court has so ruled. Yet this happens every single day in America. Families are forcibly ripped apart under the mantra "best interests of the child" when in fact this is proven to be the WORST thing for the child.

This means that "no-fault" divorces involving children should not give ANY custody to the party which is abandoning a marriage without cause.

Yet another example of the government using "good intentions" to worm its way into areas it doesn't belong and making things far worse by it's presence!

It's less harmful than alcohol and we're sick of the lies about it.

It isn't harmful at all in moderation using advanced vaporizer technique.

And let's remember that alcohol is good for you - up to around two to three drinks a day in moderation. It thins your blood and more importantly it can reduce stress ( which is what's really killing Americans by the hundreds of thousands.... where's the "war on stress"??? )

The "pothead" label is going to be thrown around regardless because he has been pro-legalization, anti-drug war forever. This whole revolution is going to make those stereotyped, propaganda-influenced labels obsolete anyway.

Let's all make an effort to replace "their" labels and reverse-speak with OUR words.

"Mainstream media" or MSM? ~ NOT ANYMORE! Now we call them "Olde Media"

"pothead" or "dope" ? ~ NOT! Howzabout "cannabis connoisseur" or maybe "herbalist" { making the little "quotes" with your hands }

"child support" ? ~ NO! That's a LIE! it's actually "divorce incentive$"

"no-fault" divorce? ~ LIE! it's really "oath-breaker" divorce

"conspiracy theorist" / "kook" / "nutter" / "tin foil hat" ~ ( only folks with losing arguments need to resort to attack-the-messenger ) how about "advanced geopolitics aficionado" or maybe "deep politics researcher" ...

To hell with the Olde Media and their bullshit propaganda.

For all the people saying, "THIS IS NOT GOOD PUBLICITY",

RON PAUL was on Wolf Blitzer's Situation Room yesterday, and WHEN ASKED ABOUT DOMESTIC POLICY, "what would you do?", HE LEAD OFF WITH STOPPING EXPENDITURES ON MARIJUANA CRIMES IN CALIFORNIA!

The man is exposing the issue himself.
If you think getting pot heads to vote at the expense of some mainstream media backlash is a problem, you are probably paranoid, and need another bong hit to settle down!

Wow, both Marc and Jodie! Welcome and thanks for everything. All prayers for your success in that despicable matter. I hope you guys know you're really popular down here. Maybe not like Ron Paul but he's had more time. :)

And thanks for having the guts to sign your names to your posts too. It's pathetic how anonymity shrivels the weaker spirit.

and then I check out the marijuana magazines, right away found plenty of good articles about Ron Paul.

Think the late night joksters (Leno, etc) might use this magazine cover on their shows? Maybe we could donate 'em a copy. Any advertising is good when your name is Ron Paul.

Thoughts?
