So when will WE know the final results?

Probably before 10pm central time on Jan. 3. The votes will be called in to Des Moines from the precincts probably by 8pm for almost all of them, and then they just need to be tablutated before they are reported. The Republicans will almost certainly be announced before the Democrats because the Republican voting procedure is considerably less complicated.
