I guess they must've played some of the clips from Real Time, Colbert Report, and Daily Show. At least the Daily Show, because the Google guy mentions the fact that he raised his hand "so high" for NAFTA. Guess they can't use that in the footage 'cause of copyright issues.

I can't get enough of watching this interview. The guy asking the questions seems to be pretty informed, and seemed to really understand the underlying philosophy of Paul's platform. I think Ron did particularly well, and I hope he got a lot of Google employees talking about this presidential candidate they saw on Friday.

Google employees are powerful people. They own youtube and have huge influence on the internet with the search engine obviously. Although many are democrats they are generally free thinking SMART people and google has the 'do no evil' philosophy. Motivated ron paul supporters working inside google is HUGE and I think this interview was awesome (one of the best) and the host did GREAT in asking good questions and being respectful and giving paul time to answer etc.

All in all great stuff!

We can still rate it, and make sure to all watch the video at least once.

And for your comment, e-mail Google to let them know you appreciated the opportunity for Ron Paul to speak at their headquarters, and enjoyed the great interview.

Maybe the best RP interview I've seen this year.

Is there a way to download videos from You Tube to your hard drive, then burn it to DVD? I don't see a download link. If so, can someone please give a detailed explanation for doing so?

Believe it or not, I still know people with dial-up connections, but they might watch a DVD I gave them.

I've downloaded videos from other sites to my HD, but when I try to back them up with DVD burning software (I have 1-2-3 DVD Copy), the file is always in the wrong format.

Thanks!

If you use firefox browser this webpage may help. The videos at youtube are in flash format and can also be downloaded with Unplug extension for firefox.

Yes, you CAN download videos from YouTube. All you have to do is go to the website linked below and paste the URL into the form.
http://javimoya.com/blog/youtube_en.php

It will give you a link to download the video as a .flv file. The program I use to view .flv files is VLC media player, available free here> http://www.videolan.org/vlc/

Someone should make a video where they point out where to find this video and a place to comment in. I hate it when they turn comments off.

Perhaps your thinking of Colbert.

Did the dood conducting the interview just call Ron a hardass? Go to the 25 minute mark and hit play.

Oh and for the record, Ron IS a hardass.

Yes please! Very good quality, good, in depth answers, no nonsense, and I think would appeal both to liberals and conservatives alike.

The video with a good title screen and some chapter markers with the different questions asked (so people can jump around to issues that interest them) would be great.

Indeed, it was the Colbert Report.

I love the bit at 46:30 where Elliot Schrage has just shown that he really grasps what Paul is all about, and where Paul comments, "You're really good!" to which Schrage comments, "I'm listening to you. I'm listening."

This program works well for that: http://www.flvsoft.com/flv_to_video/

It's not free though. I bought a copy for use in making Ron Paul mini-CD's. Indeed, this would be great footage to put on a CD or DVD. I can convert this to some other format and then provide a torrent to the content.

I've tried ripping the YouTube videos, but they don't come out full quality (in other words, if you full screen the video on youtube it looks fine, but if you fullscreen the ripped copy, it doesn't). I think asking google for the source video is what has to be done to make a DVD out of it.

How do you full screen something on You Tube? It's not on the list of options when you right-click on the screen; all you can do is to zoom in, but within the same size window.

Can a few other people click on the YouTube link above. When I do, half the time it tries to hijack me to an adclick.net and keeps locking me up. Then sometimes it goes to the video grudgingly. Just me or has links to this video been hijacked?

There are two buttons in the bottom of the Youtube vid. One is a rectangle inside the other, the other is a rectangle with one inside, but sharing a corner. The latter fullscreens a youtube video.

It's possible but this is the firsttime I've had any recent problems with it. Might be time to do some clean up. Just wanted to make sure it was just me and not the links in general.

Hey, I tried contacting "atgoogletalks" to get a full-res version, but apparently, you need to be their "friend" to contact them. I added them, but I dont know if they add anyone back. I suppose I could fullscreen the video and manually capture it at a high quality, but I'd rather have permission, if this will be eventually distributed as a DVD. Does the google interview team have another email they can be contacted at? You guys are good at hunting for contact info.

ronpaulitician
07-16-2007, 01:34 PM
I think it may be best if the RP campaign staff contacts Google, asking them for a high-quality copy of the Q&A footage, and informing them that they intend on putting it on a DVD to be distributed in a non-profit manner to Ron Paul supporters and people on the street.

I'm certain Google would love to have the free publicity of millions of these DVDs being passed out, and will love it even more if it is their interview that will eventually be cited as one of the main reasons for president Paul's rise to prominence.

Would someone please oh please oh please upload Dr. Paul's videos to Stage 6?

That way they could be downloaded and watched and re-watched.

I swear everytime I try to watch the video of Dr. Paul at Google (on Youtube) it craps out midway and I'm ready to scream. With Stage6 I would just download the thing and watch it over and over.

If someone would be so kind I would be so very grateful.

Thanks -
