I'm waiting for the "infinite" gold price. That means that nobody holding gold is willing to trade it for *ANY* number of dollars.

Those who gleefully celebrate the destruction of the dollar are total fools.

Those that are responsible for the dollar's destruction, and those that do not report it are the fools. Those that have predicted it for years and see the international support for the dollar crumbling and view the current events as evidence of being correct are not the fools.

Yes, because god forbid the Federal Reserve loses control of our money supply.

Damn, I seriously hope that the coming crisis hides out for a few years because I was totally unprepared for this to happen. I've got to kill the rest of my debt off over the next 6 months and then start building some serious precious metal reserves :/

Exactly. That is why gold needs to be a legitimate competing currency. This is how (http://www.runtogold.com) and available right now.

If you buy gold just pray it keeps going up, $860 is a lot of money, love or hate paper money, it's still more widely used.

Btw: doesn't anyone thing the Federal Reserve Notes look so cool? Why would you want to have to carry gold coins around when you can have cool looking bills.

A whole new level of currency (http://www.runtogold.com) has been created. In 2007 over $1B of transactions were conducted with it. Times are changing and Internet technology can be rapidly adopted.

Gold in the OTC Market Hit 900.00 per ounce. (http://www.time.com/time/business/article/0,8599,1702823,00.html)

If it get through 902.70...the sky's the limit.

Interestingly enough Crude Oil remains well below the 100.00 per barrel level.

This is interesting because for the past months Crude And Gold have been moving in tandem, which does seem to be the case anymore.

Fed looking to cut rates and do further damage to our fiat currency.
Not looking good at all for the USA.

I say again there is nothing to celebrate. No matter how much gold you have and no matter how much you hate the federal reserve the devaluing dollar brings disaster one day closer. If Ron Paul is elected it will be a very nasty ride back to some equilibrium. If not then gold will only buy food from those who have too much and there will be few people anywhere who have so much food they dare exchange any for lifeless metal. We had all better hope this market can hold together long enough for Paul to be elected and for his efforts to bring about some sanity to the economy. Buy some soup. Lots of soup and other foodstuffs. Until the economy gets back on its feet which may take years there will be little value in shiny metal.

Unless of course by some undefined magical happenstance the collapse suddenly stops half way to a barter economy. What will stop the fall of the dollar down to zero? It is only PAPER.

I have not heard any explanation which convinces me. Bullion is only of value when people are not starving to death.

Im not celebrating i just continued a thread. My observations of the gold market to which I have made a living for 30 years.
And in my opinion the market will not hold together by the time Dr. Paul is in.

Please read my past threads on this topic, I don't cheer for the coming collapse.
Also visit our site, you wont find any cheering there either. You will find atricles written about this topic.

Nothing personal. I was addressing people in general who think rising bullion prices is a good thing. No doubt many agree and many do not.

I gotcha my man nothing personal taken.

From another thread

Reality is
That gold for centuries has always been the true hedge against inflation.
Perhaps times have changed, and gold isn't the answer, I personally think it is.

But this currency based on credit....is going to kill us.

My line of thought is a currency that is based not only in gold, but a basket of commodities. Tangible commodities.

Example: Gold, Silver also, Wheat, Corn, Oil etc... things people need and use.

Perhaps this is a direction that should be explored.
Eventually our dollar is going to crash I smell it coming down the road if we dont try a different path

Perishable commodities make bad currency standards; especially when they are easily produceable. The value of money would wildly vary under such a standard.

Yes, the dollar is collapsing. Yes, America will be ground zero. Yes, we are posed with the question of Repression or Regeneration. But I'm not so sure we will all starve to death. Yes, there will be a lot up for grabs all at once.

But there are already stable alternative currencies (http://www.mygoldmoney.com) that can be used in daily transactions. The transition is already being made by some people. It just needs to be more rapidly adopted.

Very important quote from the link you give:

In 1792 the Coinage Act authorized the death penalty for any private citizen who counterfeited the currency. Too bad they weren't explicit that counterfeiting by government officials is just as detrimental to the economy and the value of the dollar."

-Ron Paul, right AGAIN.

I'm not happy about the coming collapse either but I and many others having been trying to tell people for years this would happen. Call me an **shole if you like but on some level it just feels good to have co-workers (that called me a wacko 3 yrs ago) coming up to me and asking how they can buy Gold.
