Just wanted to share a couple things from my recent trip up to PA (I live in MD), as I went skiing in northeast PA last weekend and I stayed in Olyphant (just north of Scranton).
I was in the car with my three friends who are very moderate. They saw the bumper sticker on my car when they picked me up and before long I was explaining some of Dr. Paul's views and why I support him. They seemed like they agreed with a lot of what I was saying, but I sensed that they didn't feel as if he had a chance to win.
About an hour later we were rolling through Harrisburg, PA and at the interchange of I-83 and I-81 there were two homemade RP signs where the highway splits....this prompted more discussion and I just made general comments like, "How many other candidates have support like that?"
Anyway, we stayed at our friend's house in Olyphant, which is right outside Scranton. We went through Dunmore and Dickson City....and I saw, at the very least, 15 RP signs, on telephone polls, in yards, and on road interchanges. Needless to say, my friends were very impressed at the grassroots support.
Anyway, if any of you are from PA or are in either the Harrisburg or Scranton meetups, I just wanted to say, GREAT JOB! You guys are organized and dedicated and on top of things, and it was really uplifting to see. (P.S. - No signs for any other candidates were spotted in the entire 4-day trip).
