Where to park our RV for Iowa Straw Poll

We are planning on driving down from Texas with our RV. Trying to make this as affordable as possible so we're hoping to find a couple of people from our groups here in Houston to hop a ride with us and help us with gas expenses and get a free place to stay to boot. My questions to Iowans is this... where is a good place to find a RV spot for our camper or even better, does anyone have a drive way that we can park in and use our generator? The generator can be noisy though so we wouldn't want to be in an area that would disturb people. We are thinking of starting our drive on Wednesday.

Jack Trice Stadium and Hilton Coliseum

the parking lot is no stranger to RV's during football season or even basketball. though dont know for sure
are you going to make it up for the Debate on August 5th? or just the strawpoll?

I would love to be there for the debate but that isn't going to be do-able for us. Right now the plan is to arrive Thursday morning and be there for support and help out any way we can. We've never been to Iowa before! :)
